I'm heading back to AU in a couple of weeks and decided to give EK F a whirl BKK-SYD, as probably won't get the chance again anytime soon.

Have chosen my seat (1A), but if there's a better seat I should choose - let me know, it's pretty empty right now; had the entire cabin to choose from. Booked the Chauffeur as well, hopefully no problems finding my place, but I'm sure they'll contact me if any problems there.

Menu from this month looks rather good, and they have JWB on board, so I'll be very happy with that (of course I'll try their other whiskeys as well!!)

Any tips from those of you who have flown this route in F? I'm actually really looking forward to it, and hopefully the experience is a hell of a lot better than what was on offer in Y (on the 380) last year, where the crew seemed to be invisible and not at all interested. (A short, relatively empty flight, maybe they were chilling out.;))

Absolutely, thank you for the photos! We have just booked our first F flight, and these pics add to the anticipation! We're only doing AKL-MEL, so miss the caviar unfortunately I believe.

Yes the caviar is missing for the trans tasman service but basically everything else is the same - you will love the EK F experience if it's your first F flight.
Do make sure you visit the J bar and have a shower also (ask the FA when you have settled after boarding to allocate a time)
The wine and spirits are the same and quite special ( Dom P ) - but remember to ask if there is anything you desire - taking into account that EK has an on demand culture.
We are taking a sector in F Mel - AKL again after enjoying a few F trips of late with EK - of course as a QF codeshare!
You can go onto the EK website and see what is on your flight from food, wine and even entertainment a couple of weeks out.
Enjoy the experience!

When is shower time?

before lights out?, prior to 1hr before landing, avoid turbulent sections of flight like Equatorial regions?

What happens when seat belt sign comes on and you are all lathered up?

Does anyone know volume of water allocated per shower?

I believe you book your time for the shower. You get 5 minutes of water - but you can start and stop the flow.

From memory you get a 30 minute slot to use your 5 minutes of water and the FA's explain what to do if the seat belt sign comes on

They ask you at the beginning of your flight when you'd like to take it.

Yes I understand that the FA will ask you when you would like the shower.

What I would like to know from EK F passengers is their preference for their shower slot time and their reasons for their choice

After dinner before bed time can be nice, or when you wake up after a long sleep. Anytime is good :)

My BW experience paid off, and I have a couple of legs in EK F coming up. SYD-DBX-IKA (the latter on a B777).

I've got a reasonably good idea of what to expect, and I'll be giving the JWB a taste.

Re photos, Ben from OMAAT just goes totally overboard there. Photos of everything! And a great read.

I'll be travelling with my wife, so I've gone for the middle seats, using seatguru as a guide.

My main question is what lounge to use in SYD?

I have an F class BKK - SYD flight coming up in a couple of weeks.

Does anyone know what lounges I can use and what the best of these might be (assuming that there is more than one available)?

Also any idea of opening times for these lounges before my 19:30 flight?

EK lounge is the only option.
It's the standard EK fit-out and F&B - pleasant enough, but not the sort of place for an extended stay.
It'll be open all afternoon.

We're also planning on doing AKL-MEL in F. Do you get the chauffeur service, I've seen mixed answers? Thanks!
