The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes

Still doing this, today.🤷🏼‍♂️
Here’s a bit of a funny one. I have 2 flights tomorrow (SYD-MEL) return. HLO so always check in online and quite often I just do it when I get the text message prompt.

However, someone mustn’t have updated the text services timings after daylight savings ended because both ‘it’s time to check in’ texts have come an hour before check in actually opens… T-25 rather than T-24.
Knowing Qantas, it will take them 6 months to fix it.

The check in system seems to be not recognising FF status. I'm platinum but my boarding pass is the non-status white and does not show the OW Emerald status. I've been allocated the last row (Dash 8 so couldn't preselect) and boarding group 3.

My brother on a different non Dash 8 flight has the same boarding pass issues.

Our FF numbers are correctly recorded in our bookings.

Is it just me or is it a new change? on QF website, unable to look at return flights unless onward flights are selected?

Tried it for both $ and CR seats.

I get the same, both website and Android app. Annoying.

Any clues about why I can get a Marselille to Seville classic award (MRS to SVQ) but not the other way around? SVQ not come up as a classic rewards destination when I do this, but will come up if I put LHR as the destination

Can you search MRS-SVQ (return) to check availability and then call to book the oneway?

Get them to waive the booking fee if you can’t do it online.

Is anyone else having issues putting in classic upgrade requests? I'm getting the following error:

The booking reference for the gift voucher and name on the voucher are noted in the email and are all correct. Template and sender is identical to previous flight change emails received. Odd. . .

I have these for both my outstanding GCs. Doubt it is a scam .... expecting them to be generated by some IT work on Qantas system.

I have received the same emails. I checked my vouchers on the Qantas website and it said the vouchers cannot be redeemed online and that I have to contact Qantas to redeem. Hope that is only temporary, because booking over the phone has become painful with long wait times and inadequate call centre staff training.

The response I received from Qantas "... We've checked on our end and can see this email was sent as the voucher/ticket was extended. This enables the voucher to not cancel before the original expiry date. Due to this it means the voucher will need to be redeemed offline with us or with our reservations team. We do apologise for any inconvenience caused. ... "

Hope this doesn’t mean the gift voucher has morphed into a ‘flight credit’ as part of this change, which could potentially have other impacts.
