The definitive thread on Qantas IT gripes.

I know you cleared the cookie, did you try incognito mode? Just trying to isolate the problem.

@ChrisMars Just tried this googled qantas selected the domain for the the AU site and noticed the QF US url was one of the options.

Edit - well after checking a few more things the answer to the problem was much simpler to solve. I normally navigate to regular sites from shortcuts and on checking I must have copied and pasted the US domain at some stage. Problem now seems sorted and can be put down to user error

Not sure if this is an website "IT issue" or something to do with my booking, figured this is the best place to post it though.

I have a classic award flight LAX > SYD return booked. Currently in Y for outbound sector hoping a higher class opens up I can move to. To check this out I clicked "change" on my booking and I'm presented with $ figures (not points) and even stranger, it says if I select Premium Economy I will receive a REFUND of $28USD but the little (i) symbol says my flight will be in Economy. Previously this page would just show me award availability.

All very strange and not something I have seen before. In addition does anyone know if I was to attempt the change for the refund, would I risk destroying my booking?

Oh that's wild. Unfortunately I'm unsure, but on a different note I've changed the date on an award booking several times now (same flight, just different day), and every time it's asked me to pay a fare difference of $1.00 in taxes and fees. This makes no sense as the taxes and fees are the same for the same flight number on different days, but I just ended up paying it since I didn't want to deal with calling them to try to waive $1.

It has become something of a joke with QF...

No, that make sense. The reason for the lower cost is that Qantas is going to put you on the back of a dolphin! At least you’ll have more legroom than economy and wont have to eat Neil’s salad.

Sorry, this doesn't answer your question, but I thought it was funny that according to that second screenshot you could select "Premium Economy", end up in Economy as indicated, and get a $28 refund; or you could select "Economy", also end up in Economy, but get an $83 refund instead.

Haha so do I! I wonder if there would be "any" benefit at selecting the "Premium Economy" option at all. Yeah $83USD refund on an award booking is a fair chunk of the taxes. I worry if I select it though worst case I lose the booking entirely is that possible? Or at a minimum a call to QF.

What the heck has happened here? (Searching for 1 pax)
I think $110 is the correct cash co-pay, but why is it 143,100 points for an Auckland to Sydney Classic Reward in J?

I just had a look through the Classic Flight Reward tables, and there no distance in no class on no airline costs exactly 143,100. So where is it getting this number from? For context the correct cost for this flight should be 41,500 points.

That's bad :( Probably more expensives than point plus play?
I could find a corretly priced J award via the mobile app.

I’am actually quite excited. I think IT is installing a new bug…..from now seat selection will show the wrong aircraft type. Or maybe all booking dates will show as UTC time and you will have to do your own calculations of the local time! Oh the possibilities!
