As this financial year comes to a close I would like to say thank you to the site owner/s and our worthy moderators. We come in all shapes and sizes and from all walks of life and the discussions this year have been a big help to our family and our customers. This year I had 2 drink nights with Lindsay and I think he is still travelling to keep away from Perth. The latest wine and champagne lists will help us float thru the new year.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Cove, I endorse your comments. The AFF site together with all its generous members and Moderators, has been a wonderful source of information.
The last 12 months for me has maximised all the spend on credit card earn due to the recomendations here. Great travel tips.
As far as drinks are concerned, I have attended Brisbane drinks a few times ( missed the last few due to SWMBO health ) and have enjoyed the comradery.Hope to be at the next one today week.
Although members here are honourable , I have learnt that once they put on a golf glove, their persona changes rapidly to reveal the biggest "burglers" I have known. So on the golf course don't trust a word they say.
Look forward to the next 12 months.

No problem. Great to hear that AFF is a valuable resource to your family and customers :)

Thanks for the post!

I would like to second (or third?) Cove's comments. As a newbie lurker on the site I have learnt so much about my introduction to the world of frequent flyer points.

I also wanted to particularly thank Cove and others for their educational inputs to newbie's discovering the frequent flyer system..... it has definitely brought a positive smile to our lives! :D

Well done Cove - I am sure many others will agree with your thoughts, especially those who simply "lurk" and do not contribute.

Lurking is fine too I think. If you ask a question you may find the answer is way different to what you may have been thinking.Serfty seems to have an amazing book marking system for recalling old entries.....compare that with me....I can barely type! This week we are testing Flemings steakhouse gift vouchers from Costco. You buy them for $80 and redeem them for $100 at paying your bill time. There is one close to LAX if you get a flight layover! markis10 and Velocity this week.....look up that thread!

It's a great site, i never fail to learn here and I appreciate the time some of the guys here put in. It's a lifestyle not a hobby!!Thanks

AFF is certainly addictive, but to me the far more important thing is the depth of knowledge that is available and that people pass on without issue.

I have met many AFFers and have to say that it is amazing that such a diverse group (in so many ways) are such an exceptional group of people that are prepared to just give and give.

Thanks everyone. :D ;)

With the 2012 financial year ending in 2 weeks I thought we should reflect and give thanks to our moderators and AFF site staff and owners.
This year has been a most interesting one with the EDR threads, the US Dividend Miles threads, ATO threads and lots of excited AFF members getting the trips of their dreams.
Thanks AFF!

Heartily endorse all that has been said :).

My only regret is that all attempts to get to AFF events have thus far been thwarted by other travel, notification of changes received too late or events that collapsed at the last minute. One day...

Our get together for a 40th wedding anniversary in Vancouver for our friends was really enhanced by Bill getting us in touch with one of his friends who lives there. This was a highlight as all the dining places suggested were winners. Now our friends are doing US Dividend Miles, EDR shopping and 28 degrees Internet shopping for overseas buying.
AFF has helped them so much!

I too would like to give thanks to the Moderators and Members.

With the help from this site we have had two J flights in the past 12 months and will soon book a Oneworld 560K Holiday for next year.

With the word enhancement being trumpeted by many Travel Suppliers let’s hope that the next 12 months brings great travel opportunities to all.

I whole heaartedly concur.

Wondeful site that has trasnformed the way I spend my Reward Wealth points and travel

Keep up the good work everyone!:D

A good example of how AFF/FT works was today when a friend who is not a frequent flyer got into trouble. She got as far as SFO enroute to Canada. (Not sure where) when United airlines delayed then cancelled her ongoing flight. The basically said get lost and come back in 27 or so hours and we'll take you tomorrow night.

I was no where near a computer so rang serfty who contacted so UA elite friends (Fredd) who gave us the best advice available. Friend was still in trouble as there was no accommodation available but at least knew where she stood and also knows how to follow up to get the trip back on the rails.

Straitman let me tell you Fredd gave us real help for Vancouver. Please let me know if he is coming down to Oz as I feel in his debt for making our friends anniversary so memorable. We don't use FT much because the site is quite overwhelming.

Fredd is signed up to be in Perth next May....

Couldn't agree more with the sentiments expressed in this thread!
