Bangkok to Stockholm return for about $1500 AUD Until end of schedule. There’s a full wiki with fare rules up on FT. I don’t believe this will last very long so get in quick.

Book is into C which credits to AV, SQ and UA at 125%.

I’m tempted but the thought of TG biz 777 is enough to deter me.

Thanks for this!

What deters you about TG J 777?

Nice price, vary wary of a few of those OTA’s though. Over $6k on the TG website so will definitely do some further investigation

Managed to get the tickets and now the waiting game starts to see whether TG will honored the fare.

According to the link in the first post it is going to be honoured! TG is however 'encouraging' people to cancel, offering to waive the $100 cancellation fee :)

'Heard' only, would preferred if it's an 'official', we are praying hard it will be honored for real..

I think this one seems ok :) If it was going to be cancelled you'd know by know by the sounds of it.

The fare is not that far out of bounds compared to other carriers that it would be unreasonable for the airline to honour it. They have large J class cabin on those flights which they need to fill.

I think it will be ok for you to call the airline on this soon. The fare has been pulled. Unticketed reservations have been cancelled. And TG is actively aware of the fare in terms of trying to get passengers to cancel.

Once you get confirmation you can start planning :) Well done on scoring this one!!! woo hoo!

im still new in these 'mistake/error fare' thingy and i did read before even confirmed tickets can get cancelled by airlines and not honoring by providing alternatives compensation.

Yes. It is true that airlines can cancel these tickets at any time. Each case is different.

Once an airline knows about the tickets, that's usually the time we get an idea of whether they're going to honour them or not. Here TG clearly knows about the tickets, but they have decided not to cancel them. Rather, they are trying to manage it through voluntary cancellation.

Now, it is possible they could change their mind later, but that seems unlikely. Airlines either cancel once they know, or they allow people to fly. Changing course it not usual.

Where people can get caught out is if the airline doesn't know about the mistake, and people are keeping quiet in the hope tickets go under the radar. That leaves them open to cancellation once the airline finds out. But that's not the case here.

So I think here you are now getting some degree of certainty. Calling the airline, or even emailing the Sydney office, will get you that confirmation.

@MEL_Traveller what do you call and ask?

I would email (aussie office), or call (but calling doesn’t have a written record) and ask them to review booking reference ABCXYZ, BKK-ARN, wanting to confirm that Thai Airways is going to honour the fare as I will be making associated hotel and connecting flight bookings.

You may still get a call from the airline offering a cancellation free of charge, but you can decline :) Having something in writing will (a) confirm you’re intention to travel and (b) go a long way to protecting the additional expenses if the airline does cancel out on you.

Where it gets tricky is if the airline finds the fare, but does nothing, or is slow to act. In those cases, calling can put a rapid end to the ticket. By not calling you have a chance your ticket will slip through, but you’re always left in limbo as to exactly what might happen.

Thank you for the insight

Just called Melbourne office, and they confirmed the tickets are valid and i can proceed to book relevant hotels or transfers required.

Excellent!

Did they acknowledge it was an error fare (or a super special or however we are describing it these days)?

It’s happened with other cheap fares that the booking office doesn’t appreciate the question being asked of them and have said ‘everything’s valid’ simply by looking at the ticket number and not at the underlying fare.

So as long as they have acknowledged it is a super special, that’s good. If they haven’t, you can consider emailing TG in thailand (so avoid asking the same question of TG MEL).

I didnt go to the details, i gave them the PNR and asked them to re-confirm the booking and they said it's valid only.
