There is an earlier closed thread on Temora which can be found here Temora

I passed through there Friday before last and there must have been a hot rod meet on or something. Spectacular. Great little town. Great to see these events in rural towns to revitalise the local economy. Pity bout the timing for me - I'd love to be there with my sound level meter. Enjoy!

We have a friend living in Temora and it's a beaut place to visit. The town centre has some lovely old buildings and cafes and the rural museum and airport are well worth a visit. We stayed at the Courthouse Cottage B&B in DeBoos St, which has two guest rooms and is really delightful. We all, (those living in Oz that is), need to visit and support our small towns and villages. We intend to do that a lot more in future

At the risk of hijacking Albatross710's thread, I've spent a few days this last month in the region (Griffith, Cootamundra, Junee,). My thing is to visit the local butcher. In each place, including Temora, the selection of lamb cuts has been limited to various chops and maybe a leg or shoulder in the fridge section (not in the counter). They've all said that "good cuts" of lamb are now too expensive and that their lamb is from Victoria (Wangaratta, Shepparton) - because that's where the/an abattoir is. Amazing because it's just one sheep station after the other out there. No idea where they end up?

Might have to take matters into my own hands. Not sure where to get a good tucker bag these days, one big enough for a jumbuck? ebay?

I’ll be there. Have put the caravan in Cootamundra, and we’ll drive over each day. Looks like the forecast rain won’t show either.

Showers on Sunday perhaps, but the show is Friday and Saturday. It’s a bit windy at the moment...40 km away, but not strong enough to cause issues (I don’t think).

The weather was just great for the two days of aviation adventure. Big contingent of active RAAF aircraft plus lots of warbird action.

There was a good display of high angle-of-attack flying whenever the F18 was in formation with older aircraft.

The Temora Canberra is out of action for a while, apparently with NDI inspections due. Interestingly it is a British RAF Canberra that is painted in RAAF colours.

The Herc was on static display on Saturday.

A great couple of days even though I didn't get to try the local butcher.

Another good show. I especially enjoyed seeing the Hurricane...first time I've seen one flying._D800257.jpg_D800451.jpg_D800578.jpg_D809858.jpg_D809923.jpg

It was a bit of a QF reunion. My boss was two rows behind me in the stand. The Caribou and Catalina were flown by retired 747 pilots. The Spitfire above by a current 330 Captain. The Russian Roolettes are all QF, but the lead 3 in the picture have backgrounds that cover Mirage, Hornet, and Tornado, whilst being current on 330, 787 and 380.

A very star-studded pilot pedigree. Also noted former Chief of Air Staff Mark Binskin flying a Cessna Bird Dog.
