Since the participants are (disappointingly :() unable to give us a summary due to the NDA, perhaps RedRoo could enlighten us on what is disclosable?

Seems a shame to advertise it here, select participants, then not allow any discussion.

...
The worst that I've seen is a contract (for a very large company) which attempted to take ownership of any idea past, present or future from their contractors in the mistaken belief that if you had an idea you must have used the resources of this company in some way no matter how small (eg a thought about the idea must have entered your head on company time at least once).

I must be over cynical today, since that statement would likely exclude QF as it seems there have been no useful ideas recently expressed (at least publicly)

Wandering back to my corner.

Fred

An NDA! lol. They gave Virgin a two year heads-up on new seating.

Although we should be used to it... try asking how they calculate refunds in the event of an involuntary downgrade and you pretty quickly hit the non-disclosure wall! :p

Although there is some consistency here. When a QFF Q&A lunch with Lesley Grant was held ? a year ago? I asked that a summary of the the Qs and As be posted on AFF for the benefit of those who couldn't attend. This was declined by RR.

Of course we had discussion, but I regretted not being able to hear what QF said to other AFFers direct from Qantas.

Samh004 did quite a good job of posting a live summary of the Qs and As from the lunch...

Oh, definitely, and I expressed my appreciation at the time. But my point was that there was a missed opportunity for QF to get its message out direct to some very engaged customers. Especially when they used AFF to invite attendees. Not everyone could make it to Sydney for the specified day - just as a number here seem to want to attend the tech session, but for various reasons, can't go.

But it's qantas' dollar, so their choice.

I can almost understand why they wouldn't want things to be discussed in a forum which QF don't control. Inside the event, I would imagine most people would get thoughts and idea's of what QF wants to do with their IT. If that was allowed to be discussed out in the open competitors such as VA or NZ or SQ could be given idea's of their own (with a similar amount of lead time as QF to get the idea going), and / or the information could be conveyed incorrectly thus confusing the general public as to the actual state of affairs.

Making sure information is made public only by authorised people, and only in authorised situations ensures that there is a consistent message. We right now hound QF about being consistently inconsistent in their messages, a NDA for an event like this just helps ensure no misleading information makes it out into the wider world.

Well, apparently according to the NDA, we get a gift voucher for a popular-shop brand too... Better not reveal the name, that may breach the NDA! ;)

(If something's not true on the form, does that make the whole form invalid...?)

I was assuming they'd mail that out?

Well it was a fun social session if nothing else.
Hopefully Qantas found it useful.

Hey Red Roo, any idea when the points will be credited to our accounts?

Not that I need them this second, but it'll be good to know when to expect their arrival

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

In the interest of general communication with a very dedicated set of QF flyers, perhaps Red Roo could simply cover the nature of questions discussed, without making any determination with respect to the answers or which were actually considered important to QF and/or the QFF program.

When commenting, one should sometimes omit the wandering

Certainly the participants can't disclose anything due to the NDA and I doubt RedRoo will either.

If something comes of the session I'm sure it will be announced in due time.

And no we weren't doing UAT on the new IFE system for the Qantas 789 which has been in secret development ;-)

It would be usual for a boilerplate NDA to make the existence of the NDA something that you were prohibited from disclosing.

That's ok people who were offered a place were told of the NDA requirement. Some of them couldn't attend and hence didn't sign an NDA. ;)
