Yay!

QF's flights on 06 Feb are still about $20 more at present. Guess that won't last long! :D

Around lunchtime today, Virgin Blue's website was taking an almost Jetstar like beating! But I eventually got me some Ejet seats!

Email just arrived now for me... If Qantas matches, that could be a reasonable way to earn some relatively cheap SC's within Australia. Anyone up for multiple SYD-CBR-SYD runs one day? :)

Qantas had moved its pricing to $69, by the middle of the day. If that's what you mean by matches.

P.S. I have read all the very knowledgeable discussion on here regarding Jets vs Turbo-props, but Ejets will always beat Dash8s in my mind (and quite possibly 737s as well?!?). [Obviously I need to try one first, before I am sure.]

$48 is matching - not $69 :)

The Virgin E-Jets are a very nice plane. Comfy to fly in, a lot less noise, and I believe a touch faster than the Q4 equivalent. Try one - you'll enjoy it!

Yes, my thoughts exactly! . ;)

I just missed the Happy hour airfares yesterday and noticed this sale on DJ soon after. I have been able to find some availability on the dates I want but with the small number of flights per day on some days the only option is the 6:25am flight or the late evening flight.

To be fair to QF they are $20 more expensive but you can get availability throughout any day quite easily.

I am thinking of a status run even at the $69 price. For me there is no real point doing anything before May 2008 as I have QF Platinum in the hand anyway. I was thinking of June, July or August. If you are keen on doing multiple runs on a Sunday let me know.

Now that is keen :) One thing to watch out for on doing this is that you will more than likely have to chase up some of your FF points and SC.

At $69 I'm up for one or two return flights on a weekend, on select weekends (and maybe weekday evenings) in February and march.

What booking class(es) are the $67/$69 fares on QF ??? Looking to see if it's worth crediting to AA.

These type of sale fares seem to almost invariably book into O class.

Standard inclusive O fare is $110/$112, N class is $125/$127.

Feb 8 shows O & N as $67/$69 & $125/$127. (Sale date)

Feb 1 Shows O & N as $110/$112 & $125/$127. (Before sales dates).

I'm up for a SYD-CBR-SYD-CBR-SYD on the 9th of Feb

EDIT: on QF that is!

At $6.90/Sc (plus positioning cost), it's not really beneficial for me to do any SCRuns on that route. If less than $5/SC (on Qantas), then I'd be interested a little more and seriously consider making a weekend of flying out of it :)

I am pleased there is finally some decent competition on the SYD-CBR route, and also some decent fares. Melbourne has been getting all the fun with Tiger et al so it's nice to get some of the action :)

Booked two trips on QF, one in April for the ANZAC Day long weekend and one in August for the Bank Holiday long weekend. Shaping up to be a decent travel year.

Now just waiting for a HNL sale for September/October on J*

I'm thinking about a SYD-CBR-SYD-CBR-SYD-CBR-SYD in one day....

Anyone dare me? :p

Who would want to fly SYD-CBR-SYD a few times a day; that sounds like a stupid idea.

Thats almost as bad as flying between Sydney and Brisbane for a few hours, whoever would do something like that.

Isn't cheaper to stay home and save the money.

Me. I've done CBR-BNE return for a few hours, but it was work and they paid.

What's money for if not spending?
