Now planning a few bookings to MXP and MUC. Commonsense dictates that I should be booking the 77Ws so we can fly direct to both cities so we don't have to put up with an intra Europe connector, but super tempting to book suites all the way to ZRH or CDG followed by a connecting flight.......

My +1 vetoed that idea in 1/100 of a second !

"Have to" take the 77W back from MXP in a few months, followed by another 77W to SYD

but SYD SIN LHR will be all in Suites !

Since when did common sense play any active role in choosing ANY F product over SQ Suites allowing quicker / more convenient / less connections en-route?

Haha, my +1 will probably try to armtwist me into Suites after he enjoyed his first experience so much. He was the one who insisted on an 11 hour stop in SIN so we can get A380 on both legs, which actually worked out well in the end as dear friends of ours were flying in the opposite direction with overlapping transit times and we got to catch up in the SKL F (they were flying in cattle).

When you are commencing your journey in BNE to begin with (separate ticket to MEL/SYD) and want to avoid a 4 leg journey. :p Plus the stress of intra Europe business will probably outweigh the benefits of arriving in Suites, arriving slightly jaded as opposed to being whisked away in the hotel car upon arrival after a long haul and basking in the afterglow of a nice first class flight along with extra time spent in a suite on the ground.... Still, I ponder...

OK, so I know this the wrong place to post a TR but I don't care. I'm on board Suites, somewhere north of Sevastopol and I'm using SQ onboard wifi. With compliments of CSM!!!!
iMessage works perfectly - updating friends etc
AFF website sucking up bandwidth at 1-2Mb per page refresh. Must be all those ads!!!
So I'll sign off with a photo if possible. If not, sorry
Warm pear tart on its way. I think I'll have the 2009 Filhot Sauternes.
I love you, SQ
AJ; take a trip and view the competition.

After booking so long ago, I am only a week out from my trip in the suites. I am somewhat embarrassed to admit I am not as excited as I thought I would be. Let's hope things change in the following days.
Don't worry; they will.
Just arrived in Changi after a fab flight.
Everything is fantastic

js has caused my credit cards to work overtime at the ATO.
I think I will have to pay the booking fees on Citi Select seeing the others are maxed since last night.
Thank you js for starting the ATO thread so long ago.
By the way Duffa I can guess you loved it!

We have Suite Savers MEL-SIN then SIN-LHR booked for June - well I thought we did - had not checked this booking for mths but just did and notice seat changes.

Here is MEL-SIN seats:

Notice 2C/2D appear occupied - they are indeed just blanked - you can call up and request these of 3C/3D occupied - and the SIN-LHR seats:

SQ306 seems subbed 380 to 77W - so we get to try SQ new F - anybody here actually experienced SQ new F as yet?

I tried explaining the idea of Suites travel to a relative but then I thought no point crowding up all of the Suites.

Last Thu CDG-SIN, 2C/D were actually occupied!
Have not tried new 77W product yet.
Must check my seats for next October

All this talk is making me inpatient for my first trip(s) next April :D
Just checked and both of my flights are still only showing ourselves and 2C/D as occupied, which may very well be blanked.
For those experienced suite travellers, do you generally keep the seat set-up until you're ready to sleep, or do you ask for the bed to be made relatively early (after eating) and watch movies propped up against the wall?
I know if loads are light they will often offer to have a suite for eating and a suite for sleeping, but I think my wife would prefer to stay in the one large combined middle suite - at least for our first segment :p

We typically book 3A and 4A. You can move around and if you ask nicely they will make up beds for you separately or together in the middle.
You could start together in the middle and then sleep in a window suite if you would prefer that.

Arrow 2C/2D are indeed bassinet seats - they are always blanked out but you can call up and request them if you want - but you might find yourself moving later if indeed bassinet seat required by another pax.

Everybody is different but IMHO 3C/3D best seats for a couple although cove and Mrs cove prefer 3A/4A - I once asked Mrs cove why she chooses these seats - 'Simple answer Cruiser' she responded 'you know cove - would you really want to sit with him if you could avoid it?' Hmmm...................got me there on a technicality Mrs cove! :D

I have only ever watched TV screen from my seat - have never set up bed and sprawled out that way - it may work - it may not - you might need to test water for us - suites are big and long - I find sitting in seat almost getting too far away from TV but then again my peepers are not the best - YMMV.

Loading will determine whether or not you can double dip on Suite occupation - whatever you do please keep the AFF flag flying my friend - go forth and enjoy.

Thanks for the responses guys!
We have booked 3C/3D for both flights at this stage, so looks like it's probably only us. I'm sure that will change between now and April though.
Cruiser, I'll try the watching TV from both seat and propped up in bed and report back :D

Off topic, I recently converted my dad to SQ as well. He is not into the miles/award game and has been with Qantas most of his life (used to fly a lot domestically with work for paid business so had status etc). He recently asked me about Krisflyer as he had a flight to Guangzhou, he couldn't believe his ability to get business award seats 1wk out and also how relatively few miles they cost him.
Gotta love SQ saver awards!

I fly out tomorrow.

I'll try and take some photos tomorrow if I manage to get some time in the lounge. There's a lot on the to-do list before I can head out. Anyone want photos of anything in particular?

Can't get in to that flight. Message comes up saying " your flight has changed. SQ will be in touch to advise you"
Wonder if this means equipment or time change.

YES when both beds made up in middle Suites there is still a lump right down middle - but cabin staff normally lay another duvet/blanket over it so it's not so noticeable. Don't worry about menu tds - let I'd be a surprise for you!
