Thanks for all the replies guys, appreciate the insight. Just one more question:

I know that stopovers on way award flights are not allowed online but can this be organised over the phone and paying the extra $100USD? Are you still entitled to the 15% discount by doing this over the phone? TIA.

YES and YES - anything that cannot be done online qualifies for the 15% disc when done offline - just remind them nicely and you will be sweet.

They are very nice in general. My wife cancelled a flight but would have lost some points (they were over the three year expiry), we eventually found another option where she changed date (6.5 months later), destination and class and still got the 15% discount, with only a minor change fee (so minor in fact I'm not quite sure how they calculated - $18 SGD).

Yet again great service.

Yes burmans we had that happen when we had parents health go wonky and SQ helped us. I must say that sort of help goes a very long way in our loyalty with SQ. The olds health has improved and so we are flying a lot more.
Have enjoyed the thoughts on use of which hand to hold the Krug, icy vodka and then the French red.
We mainly pick 2A and 3A and I have learnt to sleep in Suites.

We all have different circumstances and Mrscove suggested I should have just paid the fiscal fiend by doing a direct bank transfer. I was still doing CC payments 30 minutes before the limo pick up. Now if I did that I probably would not sleep for a week. Anyhoo it is just a game.

Was just googling to find out if there was a chauffeur service with SQ but doesn't look like they do that (not a biggie but was just curious). However I came across a promo which states that First/Suites pax can get a complimentary night stay at 1 of 6 hotels.

Has anyone taken this offer up as I can't remember it being discussed here? The page says its for booking upto Mar 2015 but the site is still up so wondering if this is still valid?

paying pax only I believe

Yep:

Valid on flights into Singapore and bookings must be made on First or Suites Class A/F/P/R Class or mixed Suites/First/Business Class fare.

Ah OK thanks for confirming, I'll stop with all the useless questions ;)

Absolutely rapt. Just snared two suites tix back from CDG to SYD for Aug 2016, all with my VV pts. This will add the sweet to the bitter end of our honeymoon. Mrs. Doggy-to-be couldn't believe her eyes when I showed her 3C and 3D together (I didn't let her know about my plans until I secured the seats).

Thanks to the dozens (or more) whose wisdom I leeched off to make this happen.

I see there won't be shower in the "New"R

No showers for Singapore Airlines' new A380 first class suites - Australian Business Traveller

"Definitely no showers!" affirms Mr Tan Pee Teck, the airline's Senior Vice President for Product & Services. "It’s a frill that we probably don’t need."

Lets hope we get some other frills then...Limo service!.....Arrivals lounge ( put the shower in there instead!)

EK style Bar would be something. I really want to try it as I've yet to read a bad review about the atmosphere you get having drinks there.

I can understand teh appeal of showers, but when ya trying to use up the space most efficiently, showers prob dun cut it.

Arrivals lounge in SIn would be good, along with some priority path through immigration.

If you are holding R or F BP you already have complimentary arrival access into TPR both if terminating in SIN or transitting. As for priority path through immig dep SIN has worlds best priority path through F check in - if arr SIN well no there is no priority path although can never remember waiting longer than 2 mins in T3 - T2 can be a little busier but still not a problwm IMHO.

That whole airport is a priority path.

Slowest queues at Changi are the the equivalent of the fastest queues at other hubs.

Having been brought up with having seat belts on at all possible times I never thought an onboard shower was a great idea.
I saw where Emirates are removing showers from some of their planes so the idea is not too successful.
The one time I flew their A380 in Suites was SYD-AKL so I did not bother with the shower.

I had a shower on 380 on my one and only EK F exp - was fabulous - I had one drink at the EK 380 bar also - they only serve Moet at bar - staff offered to scurry up to F cabin and get me a glass of Dom but I am not that much of a DYKWIA pax so declined and enjoyed the Moet - funny thing was I just did not have as much fun at that bar experience as I have had on VA 777 trans pac - go figure - but I do think it is a major positive on ling haul.
