Nah I cannot stomach caviar either - more than happy scoop you up some on Tuesday burmans and bring it back for you. It can't go off anymore in transit.

For Easter 2016 I'm going to mix it up a little.

SYD EUR: SQ Suite all the way

EUR SYD: CX F / J

Best of both (Asian) worlds IMO

DXB or AUH didn't enter the equation on this occasion.

.... enjoy the ride while we can.

Anyone happen to have booked 3C on SQ317 out of LHR on Sunday 20 September?
They will unfortunately score me beside them in 3D with the better half in 3F.
2C & 2D taken by another couple so hopefully 3C will move to one of the 7 window suites currently available.

Dave are 2C/D actually booked or just blocked to online selection? These are bassinet Suites so are blocked out for online selection but you can call SQ / KF and request them - you just then run risk of one or both actually being reqd for bassinet usage.

2C&D generally 'booked' as bassinet seats - should be able to call up and ask to be put into row 2, but then have to deal with potentially being kicked out by someone with a baby.

seems to alternate between 1A and 2F for the 777s bassinet position.

My 2A on an upcoming flight with the new F is the bassinet seat. Maybe a way to see which cabin product you'll get? Seat map is 8/8 too, so I won't be lonely.

Edit: or not. Updated updated cabin with only four F seats has it in 1A, 773 2F, 773ER 2A.

Thank you all for the help.
Pretty sure the booking in 2C was a Saver redemption with the same person likely on SQ211 onto Sydney booked in 1C on their own. We were able to at least get 2C & 2D on that flight though not suites on the 773.

Paging Cruiser Elite ;)

Currently on hold trying to book a mixed J/F OW redemption from PER-NRT but the agent is struggling a bit. I am now on hold so hopefully a more senior member is helping her out.

I will be doing this again for the return leg once availability opens up for April next year.

Did you have any contact details for particular agents that you found better than others since Crystal left?

Thanks Cruiser. The agent offered me a wait list for the Suites flight though it is still showing available online. In your experience is there often phantom availability on the website? The agent admitted she could see it available online but could not book it.

For 59,500 each I didn't think it was too bad for a trip to Japan during a peak period we would end up 6.75 hours in Suites, also most likely visiting the TPR twice access during the 13.5 hour layover (dinner after we land the breakfast before the flight to NRT we would probably just have a few hours sleep at the airport hotel in between this)

If booked by itself the SIN-NRT section would be 51,000 so 8,500 fro J from PER-SIN seems like a decent addition.

I am most likely going to book KIX-SIN-PER all in J for the return at 44,625 each with a couple of days in SIN for the extra $100.

Am I missing something?

what were they struggling with? you should just be able to feed them the flights?

70K less 15% discount = 59,500 points. 7 hour flight time. that's about the same as a SYD-SIN flight. do you prefer the longer haul flights for KF miles?

I fed her the dates flight numbers but she was saying that it was not available for any of the flights.

I think initially she wasn't understanding that I was happy to pay the F award rate for the whole booing even though there was no F for the PER-SIN leg. I also suspect that she may have been trying the SIN-NRT on the same day as PER-SIN whereas it is the next morning. I was on hold for about 20 mins. She was rather difficult to understand at times due to a poor line and when I tried to speak more slowly and clearly she would interject part way through and I would have to start again. She was very friendly and was definitely trying to help it just seemed to confuse her a bit.

At least I have a booking reference with confirmed seats for J and the wait list for F so I may call back and see if I can get the F flights confirmed as it is still saying available on that date just for the SIN-NRT section.

Marrying sectors is not always just straight forward - you maybe able to see availability on 2 individual sector - whether bot F / both J or mixed - but when agent tries to marry them together it then does not allow them to do so. It's a legacy of back room yield management team - SQ or KF booking agents can not see this until they try to link sectors.

I am off to China tomorrow - F both sectors - I tried to put it back a day and both sectors showed availability but agent could not link them - it was on hold since Fri but cleared this morn - sometimes they clear - sometimes they don't. Does that help?

And don't worry about what others think of your travel desires and plans - go with what you want and can achieve and enjoy every second.

Thanks for the extra info. I guess I will just have to wait it out for a bit and see.

Not at all worried about what others think but if someone with more experience has found that there is a better way I am all for hearing their opinions.

Hi all, I have a few questions for the seasoned Suites passengers from SIN.

I've got a booking in October from SIN-JFK but haven't yet booked a flight from Brisbane to SIN. We were just going to do a one way to get there. What is our best use of time and what is the best way to go about this to get the most from this Suites flight as it's our first time.

For eg; We'd love to arrive at the First Class check in the best way possible. Should we try land in Singapore early morning, pop into the city and come back via car to the First check in? Or can we get the same 'experience' just walking there after a later landing? Our flight doesn't leave till late at night.

Edit: Keep in mind, we'll have luggage that needs to be checked in, so didn't want to haul that around Singapore if we arrive early.

I don't think walking there will be the same as arriving in a car. But do you want to lug your luggage around all day? Why not fly to SIN the day before and spend a night?
