Successful QF 'Bid Now Upgrades' data thread

Now being used to make extra cash for QF.We both got a final chance to bid on an upgrade to J less than 6 hours before our SYD-MCY flight.J was full though.Probably not enough had put in a high enough bid.
Really don't see the point of spending extra for J when we both get entry to the J lounge and priority baggage which surprise actually worked yesterday. The flight was just over an hour.

$250 (min bid)

PER-MEL on a330

Business was full, I'm only bronze with Qantas (on a gold fast track so that may have made a difference) so was surprised it went through

BNE-TSV evening flight. Bid offer $230+0points (min bid $200). Accepted just after T-24

zero from three in last few weeks. All red e, all min points and just over min dollars. Clearly others offered more as J was full on each flight

Or perhaps they did the right thing and satisfied all of the classic rewards upgrades requests before any Bid Now could be accepted as they should do.

And no luck with them either. If it bothered either of us we’d book J. Trying for a classic reward upgrade or bid is all part of the game for us.

$200 (0 points) accepted for SYD-CFS T-6 hrs.

This is my first QF flight in 15 years. Does business come with lounge access? The eligibility on their website is is completely unintelligible.

Cheapest tickets purchased on Syd-Cairns 17/5. Offered bid up grade for $540 and 20,000pts. May have considered it if it came with business status credits.

Do you mean that was the "suggested offer"?

You can slide the points and cash down from what it is pre-set and offer less points and less cash.

If offering close to 20,000 points, I'd recommend just upping it to 27,200 and putting in for a Classic Upgrade which gets processes before Bid Now upgrades.

Unfortunately that was the lowest offer that would be accepted....we had only paid $122 for the seats so I cannot complain!

Qantas flies J to Coffs Harbour?

edit: never mind - just seen they have some 712s flying the route... interesting!

Cheers,
Matt.
