After discussion on this thread tracking of successful 'Bid Now Upgrades' seemed in order.

A Google Docs form can be completed which will feed into the spreadsheet.

The form is here.

The spreadsheet is here, and anyone is able to view it. I will sort it based on departure city from time to time.

Please post any upgrade bid (successful or not) in the form. Or if you wish just post the QF offer if you choose not to bid so we can at least keep track of the offers.

I think the emailed minimum $$ and points would be informative in the long run.

Perhaps the fare class of the purchased ticket as well. Especially since at this point we don't know if the latter will be related (in the mind of QF) to the former pairing. And unsuccessful offers will still be informative to the AFF population.

Perhaps for now just include all that in the post text.

Thanks Jessica.

Still wandering

Good idea, I have edited my post.

Can I also suggest that unsuccessful bids would be just as useful for data purposes ...

Not sure if people would be against this, but would recording the member's point balance (or perhaps a range to provide some privacy) at the time of receiving an offer to bid be useful? May give some insight as to who Qantas is targeting (or none at all lol).

Edit: Nevermind, saw this on the Qantas site:

"Members are responsible for ensuring that they have sufficient funds on their nominated payment card and a sufficient amount of Qantas Points in their Qantas Frequent Flyer membership account from the time the upgrade offer is submitted to the scheduled flight departure time"

The spreadsheet is here, and at this stage I have restricted editing, but anyone is able to view it. I will sort it based on departure city.

Please post any successful upgrades in this thread in the following format:

Date, From, To, Class of travel, min Points, min $, Points offered, $ offered, Name.

Please keep discussion to a minimum, and preferably on the thread that spawned this one.

Conundrum - useful to have FFer class as well but would this provide too much info for Q to use to 'enhance' their own outcomes.

Equally though as sheet stands it probably provides enough info for Q to ID each entry.

Perhaps could solve 1st issue by having a 'hidden' column in the sheet which only JT & ? can access for running comparisons while posts initially include the FFer rank but once it is entered the rank is removed from the post.

Bring back the X-Files!

Whilst I think it is ok as it stands, I am happy to consider changes to the format. It isn't my data after all. But add too much and I will start dobbing people in to maintain it. :)

As I read the email about this, the minimum points is 3000 for domestic and 5000 for [-]business[/-] International in all cases.

Is it possible to have a "classic" upgrade request in as well as an auction style one at the same time? If so it might be worth adding a Y/N column for "classic upgrade requested". It would be a good way to see how true it is that classic upgrades have precedence over auctions.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

I'm not sure that I would risk doing that. I suspect that QF IT Work Experience Kids (QFITWEK) won't have thought of the scenario where a pax requests a classic upgrade and puts in a bid so you would end up potentially 'paying' twice for the same upgrade.

Make your starting position the minimum you want to fly so if that is economy then that is ok but if it is premium economy you might want to book that as a start.

Post on FFA Facebook about MEL-OOL for 3000pts + $250.

With the FT AGM on next weekend how we may see a few more
