Yup, I definitely applied too early... I read a few posts from members saying their GT application didn’t require proof of address, so I thought I’d try my luck. I’m heading to China in about 1.5 weeks, so having the card with no FX fees would’ve been perfect.
Looks like I’ll need to let this GT application lapse since it’ll take around 60 days before I get a HSBC US statement. Got this email from HSBC today:
- If you have an HSBC Premier checking or savings account outside of the U.S.:
- The account will need to be open for 30 days or more and meet the Premier qualifications in that country
- As your Australia account was just opened December 8, it has not met the 30 day requirement. We can pend until that time if you wish
Has anyone had success getting them to waive the 30-day requirement? Any good reasons to use when asking?
