If the application fails, it may be worth trying again in a few months. Their processes are inconsistent.BOA has been a PITA. I tried applying again within 30 days so that they can use the same hard pull. I have between 5-10K in a checking account with BOA but it hasn't helped. My checking account was setup correctly as a NRA with my residency set in Aus. They can clearly pull my credit report because the letters requesting docs have shown a FICO score.
Both applications ended up with BOA requesting ID docs and payslips. I mailed these documents to them from Aus to see what happens so lets see...
I applied for a BOA checking account a few months ago. Said I needed to go into branch to prove identity.
Applied again this week after being approved for a Premium Rewards Elite credit card, and was instantly approved for the checking account.
