Gonna apply for HSBC US CC, but if my profile is AU address, should it be changed to US address?

No for HSBC it's fine - I got the CC shipped directly to me, you need to change it to the US address for Amex though before your Prem statement is generated.

Decided against it. Already have too many points. And paying AUD $0.0056/pt ($USD395 = $AUD595/105000) isn't particularly attractive when I don't need the points — I typically acquire at a lower cost. Yes, the sums are slightly better if you get full value out of the companion pass, but not by much.
