Strategy to obtain US Amex

MsP just knocked back for CSP due to insufficient credit history. She has a free CC since Nov24 with her US bank. Note she is living in US. I suggested she call and plead her case. Any other suggestions?

Won’t hurt - it may not change the outcome but she can try and plead her case. Maybe have a reason why she needs it - Increase in spending and wants to purchase through Chase travel - not sure if anything will work if credit file is thin but you never know- she already has the hit on her file so maximise it

Chase generally want 12 months of credit history before they'll even consider approval.

Since she is in the US, I've read you can bypass the 1yr credit history if she goes in branch and open a checking account. Put some funds into it and try apply in branch see if she gets approved.
I concur, got my CSP approved by going in branch and also opened checking account at the same time. What followed was a little hairy but I hope it stays open and fully functional now - I quite like it - though it's taken some spend away from other cards.
