Was J class Syd-Lax-Jfk (ticketed AA, QFF). Connection in LA missed due to QF late Syd departure, and QF rebooked us on Delta for Lax-Jfk leg. Was told by QF ground staff at LAX that would still get QFF status credits for LAX-JFK leg as was QF fault and they rebooked me.

Received SC and FF points for the Syd- Lax leg, nothing for the Lax-Jfk. Would’ve tipped me into Gold, so a bit annoyed. Any experience in this? Will I have no joy in chasing Qantas up for the missing ssc?

Original Routing Credit, so meaning you would get the FFpoints and QFF SC as if you were flying AA.
Have to contact QFF for it though, making a claim.
Snap, Anna got in first, ...

Just curious in such a scenario whether you could double dip (i.e. collect DL credits on the rebooked flights whilst collecting the ORC on the originally booked QF/AA segment)?

yeah you can. I mean QF rebook you but they wouldn't know if you put in a DL# (or SU or whoever) in for the flight

and yes ORC applies.. just need to call - it won't come automatically.

Ha! Reminds me of those many times Aeroplan incorrectly codes their award tickets so I can get upgrades and frequent flyer points when flying on their metal! Believe it or not, I've never encountered an IRROP or mis-connect where I've been put on a non-alliance partner. The closest I've come has been an mis-connect in ORD due to controllable IRROPs (bad weather) forcing an overnight and a rebooking in J on AC.

One related question I don't think is answered is who do you make contact with during such situations? Do you contact the operating airline that encountered the IRROP forcing a rebook on OAL or do you contact the frequent flyer program it is credited to (or both)?

From my experience, yes you can.
Thanks Obama! 😂

yes we can GIF by Obama

You need to contact your frequent flyer program in this instance.
