Sorry to hijack thread a little bit, but what are the AA perks for PS? I'm heading to the US at the end of the year and am currently NB, but there may be an opportunity to get myself up to PS with a few work flights.

As quoted below
PS on AA. That's how to feel like a rock star. The first time I flew AA as a PS (after having flown QF as PS for 2 years), it was like I was a VIP. All of a sudden the Security queues became Priority AAccess, as did boarding. It was an eye opener.

You get the benefits for OW Ruby, which is what QF PS is. Main perks include free first checked bag, Priority Security Queues (Priority AAccess) as well as priority boarding (also known as Priority AAccess). You'll have PRIORITY ACCESS on your boarding pass for both these. And when travelling on any US airline, believe me, you want to be amongst the first to board if you want any chance of getting your bag in an overhead!

You'll also earn your QF points bonus and any applicable cabin bonus. See here: Frequent Flyer - About the Program - Benefits & Privileges

You should also, depending on where you're flying, have access to the now rolling out premium AA Coach seating (Preferred and Preferred Plus they call it). You'll be behind other higher elites, but still.

OW Ruby holds some weight on AA. It's a handy thing to have in the USA!

This might be a good way to find out...on quite a few flights out I've seen the iPad that the CSM uses which shows the passenger spread over Bronze to P1 and CL. If we all noticed the numbers, collated and averaged them, we'd have a pretty decent idea (though bronze would be really underrepresented for the obvious reasons).

If the CSM's can be bothered to actually greet the "status" pax. Certainly did not bother with Y "status" pax on QF2 and QF10 the other day. (On the top deck anyway.)

A couple of months ago my husband claimed he was told how many there are at each status level. He told me but I don't recall it now. I'll see if he can remember :)

As I understand it there are:

P1 - 3,000
WP - 60,000

I don't have any interest in SG ;)

Agreed! Silver doesn't feel too special in Oz but the benefits are noticeable flying AA.

I should clarify and say I did feel mighty special on the day I became silver.

Husband was told there are 1.9 QFFers and of those 15% are platinum.

Yes it does seem odd... he says he got it from someone high up in QF though...

But take it with however many grains of salt you think it requires :)

I have member number in the 3's of millions 3xx_xx_ and I know people in the 8, so there's at least 8 million (not possibly active, but it's a linear increment).

Not anymore, my parents have numbers in the 1.9 billions ie 19xx_xx_xx
QFF changed the numbers about a year ago? Pretty sure someone else around here can correct me on that.

They're not frequent flyers but if a DSC comes round they'll both end up on Silver after two trips to NA.

Really? I thought they had just tipped the 10xx_xx_ with all the EDR sign ups?

Without reading the entire thread,

Would this info be in the AGM report!!!

Not sure though.

They may have just tipped 10 million members but the numbers themselves have changed, they no longer reflect what number member you are (although if we can somehow work out what the last number was issued before switching over we can still figure it out, I think the new numbers are linear, just that they are now 19xx_xx_xx)

From what I can remember from watching the AGM it wasn't mentioned.

Not contained in the Annual Report or the Data Book. I believe it would be considered as commercially sensitive and therefore not a published or publically available bit of info.
Concur. This came up at the 2010 QFF Rockpool lunch, and that information is Commercial-in-confidence.

Chance of those numbers or even percentage breakdowns being known outside of QF Loyalty or some partners under super-strict NDAs = Zero, nada, zilch.
