Would anyone have the approximate figures on how many member QF has at each of the levels? I found an article in the Age which says that there are over 8 million people registered as members and presumably most of them would be bronze. Just curious is all. I'm a silver member and don't really see that I'm "valued" anymore than when I was a bronze. It might be different for Goldies though.

Silver.
I would agree that there's not a lot more 'valued' feeling compared to Bronze, however I do feel that there are still a few benefits. One such example is the checkin for domestic QF. I like being able to just swipe my card on the reader and be checked in, as well as having RFID baggage tags, which make checked baggage that little bit easier. Other than that there's not a great deal, and as I said, whether these benefits are worth all the loyalty is very much a personal opinion.
I also wonder how many NBs would follow AFF, would it be right to say that interest in forums such as this would have some kind of correlation to status level? My thinking being that AFF is very useful for things like achieving and maintaining status, as well as discussing the other perks of elite status. Just a thought....

the 50% extra miles is not bad for a silver....

IIRC there is a thread about this already somewhere with some percentages but those with superior search skills  will be able to put up the link

This question is asked around here on a pretty regular basis. Unfortunately, it's very commercially sensitive information, but thanks to things like the free sign-up via Everyday Rewards, the number of status pax is likely to be less than it used to be (thanks to a huge surge in people earning simply from shopping). Of course, the lowering of PS a while ago means there's likely to be more PS than there used to be. As a WP, I can't say I feel much more valued than when I was PS or SG, but, when the proverbial hits the fan, your elite status saves your hide :)

You're going to have a skewed proportion around here though, with (i'd venture a guess) more than 50% of regular posters being WP or WP1, and if not that high, i'd say 65% would be SG/WP/WP1. We're a frequent flyer freak bunch here ;)

I wonder if Qantas has any reporting obligations to how many members they have at each level, like in an annual review or the like.

Not contained in the Annual Report or the Data Book. I believe it would be considered as commercially sensitive and therefore not a published or publically available bit of info.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Silver has value depending on how you use it. Domestically you have the checkin features, but internationally you get the free seat selection plus the benefits whilst flying AA in America. Don't forget the extra points.

All in all it's a bit of a taster for higher status

PS on AA. That's how to feel like a rock star. The first time I flew AA as a PS (after having flown QF as PS for 2 years), it was like I was a VIP. All of a sudden the Security queues became Priority AAccess, as did boarding. It was an eye opener.

I see someone has posted my poll, which I think was in response to another poll which contained only half the number of options and caused a great deal of stress. And bleeping ;)

I recall several years ago an investor slide revealed rough numbers for the different levels, but there hasn't been anything since.

Don't worry as a platinum I don't feel especially valued. Besides getting good seats.

This might be a good way to find out...on quite a few flights out I've seen the iPad that the CSM uses which shows the passenger spread over Bronze to P1 and CL. If we all noticed the numbers, collated and averaged them, we'd have a pretty decent idea (though bronze would be really underrepresented for the obvious reasons).

Oooh I had no idea this existed, I'll keep an eye out for it!

All I know is that as a self funded flyer, I would still be bronze and travelling down the back of the plane if I hadn't cottoned onto this site.

I imagine a huge number of the QFF community are that old me!

couldnt agree more nick....... this place certainly maximises points/sc
tho i must say- not much to get excited about for hitting PS if you're already QP..... other than points bonus

Plus the international seat selection and AA perks if you fly either international or in the US

A number of years back when there were ~6,000,000 QFFers the number quoted for Platinums and above was ~1%.

I do not think this number would change much with the number of QFFers increasing the past couple of years mainly due to Everyday Rewards.
