Two weeks too late for our recent Crown Plaza stay

I've got a stay at IC Double bay coming up next weekend. Estimated points earn was 7696 plus another 7696 (spire elite ambassador) bonus and now with this on top should make for a good haul.

Already have a stay booked? Simply register for 4X now and you’ll automatically multiply your points on your stay – no need to re-book.

With this quote in mind and the fact that my stay was previously already booked does that mean I will earn 4X

I didn't receive the email about this. Using the link above I get a message saying I'm already registered, however that isn't showing up in my account. Oh well.... not likely to be travelling anyway.

It's tiered ...

First two stays get 2x.
Next stay 3x.
Then 4x for following stay ....
( but check T&Cs )

I might also add a tip here ...
If you are chasing SPIRE status, did you know ( maybe you do ) ... ??

On a paid stay, look for how to book with buying 3,000 additional points. Cost is $AUD15.

You will pay a little extra, via Best Flex rate, as oppossed to IHG Rewards rate.

The system treats the 3,000 purchased points as 'Elite Qualifying'.

My last HI stay resulted in 5,047 ordinary points PLUS .... 3,819 Elite Qual. points.
( I'm currently Plat. and spent $149.50 on the upgraded room, which included a few drinks and car parking fee ).

With reduced Elite Qual. points required this year to reach SPIRE ... this could be your way to go !!

Well, I'm 'there' now !!

With the trick of buying additional points, linked to an actual stay, plus the COVID reduction in Elite Qualifying Points to SPIRE ...
I made it with minimal stays and cost.

It was really something to strive for, as next year ( when all 'settles' down ), I'm taking a job in Jakarta. I intend on living in the local Holiday Inn hotel @ $US24. a night.
I'm expecting a decent upgrade, plus a few 'perks' ontop as a SPIRE AMB.
