Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I know that at *city, hotel benefits are (frequently un-promoted) often as high as 60 - 70% discount's, a friend is Gold at Star and frequently takes advantage. You also receive frequent unpublished member offers. There is one high roller level above Gold at *city I am aware of, unsure of its name, but guarantees high rollers access - my ex boss had that...

That's the hardest part of the whole thing. The benefits of the highest level are unpublished, how you get invited is unpublished. If you throw enough money across the tables, rooms can be free, not just discounted :) Free dinners, private jet flights, it all happens.

Yep. Interesting stuff in the Harry Kakavas vs Crown Casino suit:
Crown Casino | Harry Kakavas sues for $30 million loss

On several flights the pilot, on Crown's behalf, gave Mr Kakavas a box of "lucky money", between $30,000 and $50,000 each time, to get him started.
Mr Kakavas was also given the use of limousines and tickets to events such as the Australian Open, as well as a 20 per cent rebate on his losses, the court heard.

He was also allowed to take the Crown jet to the Philippines for holidays.

Oh, and a funny thing I once witnessed in a VIP casino area:
- Someone calling up from their room and asking for corn chips - not really corn chips like Dorito's, but instead the client had to have tortilla chips. The poor staffer was trying to work out where to get them from, and the other one there suggested that she runs to 7-11 because they have some there.

Yep, gamble enough and you will get anything....

Thanks for the reply - btw the website states "you will earn one membership credit for every 500 points earned in a day" - is one point a dollar spent?

For the bars and restaurants, it is 5 points for each dollar spent.

Don't know what gaming gets you, might be one point per dollar bet.

90 stays a year would leap you to Gold for sure, possibly platinum. I just read on some no-news site you needed to turn over 2+ mil for platinum, crock of sh!te, I am about 1/2 way to platinum status which is mahogany room access (I don't think I'll ever get there though) and I wouldn't have turned over 100K in 12 months.

One meal at Rockpool might get you there though.

You would be best talking to a Crown person, 90+ nights is a big spender, and if you can prove to them past and future, I would say with certainty they would platinum you if you approached it the "right" way...!

Good luck

There is a new Mahogany Room being constructed at present. Quite plush by all accounts.

You would also need to back up your claims for comping otherwise they will lost quickly!

Casinos have long memories

I just got home from picking the car up... I should have checked my status after last nights affair at rockpool!

I have Crown Gold, this is due to excessive consumption of all that Crown has to offer including gambling, restaurants and shopping, all of which I collect status credits that lead to higher Crown status.

I get frequent offers of heavily discounted hotel rooms, guaranteed to be when I don't want a hotel in town, restaurant and show offers, I get free drinks at all private areas except the mahogany room which I do not have access to. There are two levels above Gold at Crown I can obtain, they are Platinum and Black.

Oz_mark is 100% correct in saying that you have to spend $,$$$,$$$.$$ to be invited to the high levels although with Crown, not necessarily on gambling - a buying spree at Versace or Prada could net you higher status in one credit card transaction!

Word of advice - gamble with your head, not heart.

Good post munitalP.

We all have different interests (apart from frequent flying)... and if a post comes up about somebody else's that you either have no interest in or don't agree with, then dont post.

I worked at Crown for a number of years but they have changed the program significantly since I left so I am not up to date on what's on offer from the new Signature Club or Star City's offerings either. I do like how they offer points for purchases at all crown outlets these days though, even the ones not owned by Crown themselves. I got myself a card just for the odd times I might pop in, although I tend to avoid it since there is too many people I know still working there.

I think the answer to that is talk with Crown - I would prob not tell them you were not a punter though! See what you can get from them, then only you can be the judge...

We have a commercial relationship with Crown, so I will only say get a personal one on one going with your own VIP Manager, back your claims of spend and remember all relationships are different, but dont expect to spend under $500k for real status.

Hell last time I was in M, you could still smoke.

If M means mahogany room, smokers abound in the Teak room up. *city and the Treasury high rollers are the same, smokers everywhere.

A Gold offering for Crown - I don't know if anyone else gets it - I would assume so...

SUN-THUR - Metropol $110
FRI - $165

SUN - THUR Promenade $99
FRI - 129

Till Dec 24 2010

If you "visit" Brisbane or Gold Coast, and arrange then you'll get reciprocal rights, but I didn't think they were automatic. That's how I managed to visit the Plat lounge at Star - one of my friends is Jupiters Platinum and I was their guest. It was all pre-arranged... I doubt they would just be able to walk up and get the reciprocal rights.

I've been guested into the Brisbane Gold/Plat lounges at the Conrad. Both are quite nice, but small. I do like their range of alcohol though

Does anyone know what kind of spend is required to gain Mahogany room access at Crown? 10yrs ago my father was a member and we got treated to many stays at crown, dinners etc.

I was much younger then and didn't realise how much $$ he was wasting on the blackjack tables! Curious to know what kind of spend is required though.. I'm sure he wont tell me :D
