It was a struggle for us as we had to get our personal tax returns completed and assessed. That means all the companies and trusts have to be finalized first.
Retail banks generally don’t have much of a clue and that is easy to see with credit limits. Mrscove has one with a $60,000 limit when my one is $100,000 then there is a reverse where she has one at $75,000 and I am stuck on $12,000.
The US is far easier and Amex, Citi and Chase have chased us for a bigger piece of the action.
When Qudos was a CC that worked I think my application was about 100 pages long to answer their questions.

Well my St George saga continues.. I applied about 3 weeks ago and was conditionally approved. I sent my income verification documents to the specified email address. These were rejected (for no valid reason) and I was asked to send more. They were rejected again despite being exactly what they asked for. Over the next week I had to make multiple phone calls to clarify exactly what was required and to dispute why my documents weren’t being accepted. Each time I received a different answer from clueless call center staff. After about 5 attempts of resending different versions of the same information, multiple phone calls, many emails and a visit to a branch, I finally received my approval email.

On Tuesday this week I received the approval letter in the mail. Yesterday the physical card arrived. I proceeded to attempt online activation but this failed instantly telling me my card number was invalid. After so many hoops prior to this I wasn’t in the least surprised by this failure and decided to wait until the next day (today) to call the activation line. After multiple failed activation attempts on the phone the representative proceeded to tell me that my account had been closed. Confused I called customer service and they tell me it was closed on the same day it was approved! After a lengthy hold I get told that the card has a block on it and a different verification team needs more documents. The documents now required (payslips/bank statements) are literally the exact ones I have already sent multiple times prior to approval (in case you were wondering they had definitely received the documents previously because I had called to check). On top of that I was told to send them to a totally new address ([email protected]). Upon sending the documents again I got an email delivery failure notice a.k.a the address I was given was incorrect. So now I have to call back again tomorrow to find out the next step since the email failed.

I am beyond frustrated and angry at this point. I have spent so much time dealing with incompetence but the biggest slap in the face was receiving an approval letter and a card in the mail only to be told that the account is blocked. The sheer dysfunction going on behind the scenes at St George puts this company is in the same bucket as Citibank (avoid). At this point I don’t know if I should even bother perusing it.

After sending my @Dr Ralph letter my bonus points arrived within three days.

This was followed two days later by a generic response:

Our records reflect that you were allocated the 90,000 bonus points on your July Credit Card statement which was within the 12 week allocation period after the $5,000 spend was met. Please check your Qantas Frequent Flyer Account for the 90,000 points. If you are not satisfied with this final response, you can contact the Financial Ombudsman Service Australia on 1800 367 287, email [email protected] or mail GPO Box 3, Melbourne VIC 3001. If you choose to pursue this option, you will need to do so within 2 years of this correspondence.”

The points did arrive with the July statement.... but that was not within 12 weeks. And their response did not address how the issued of failing to comply with their own T&Cs.

There should be a royal commission...

Is there a difference between their 'allocated' and your 'arrrive'?

No. They were allocated <7 days late and appeared in the QFF account same day.

It's not worth making an issue over it. But it is a matter of principle.

No doubt if my card payment was late by a few days the bank would chase with vigor.

Not so much vigor, but a computer would automatically apply the late payment fee and interest. Zero effort required on the bank's behalf.

Am thinking of applying for this one. Howver the link is now $179 fee. Is this correct?

Also I csnt seem to find minimum income, or is it it depends

My 35 year love affair with Westpac has been diminished but the St George CC has kept them in the game.

Registered for the QF passes May 27th but haven’t received anything yet. Rang them tonight and they’re going to investigate and get back to me in 2 days.

Also thought I hit min spend but was told I was $100 off so fixed that up tonight. 2nd statement is due this week and was hoping to get the points but will likely be the 3rd statement.

St George eventually called me back 4 days later and advised that they have processed my lounge passes to be sent electronically. Checked the QF account and they were there the following day, good timing for the wife to use for her trip to LHR :)

Now hopefully the points post during next statement (3rd)

Got my bonus 90k points posted to me after just the first statement which is a nice little surprise.
Have not even paid the first statement or the annual fee, talk about efficiency!

I just got my welcome back after applying through the Pointhacks offer. The annual fee listed was the full $279 instead of the reduced $179.

For those that applied through PH, did you get the full fee in the welcome letter but was charged the lower fee?

The full annual fee was also listed in the financial table with my welcome pack. Asked about it over the phone. Said they could see was on the discounted first year PH offer from their end. Haven’t received my first statement yet. I hope that’s reflected in the statement.

Same here, the figure on the welcome pack showed $279 so I called them up just to be safe.
Lady over the phone confirmed that I would be charged $179 instead of $279.
First statement arrived today and showed I was charged $179.

Yes. Pack is just a standard one.

if you have St George home loan package, they will waive the annual fee

Does anyone know or has anyone succesfully added the priority passes to an existing PP account or do you have to have a whole new account set up?

Am a little impressed by St george

Have applied. My payslips need their name changed which I'm doing.

Since I've applied it's only been 48 hours and I've receive Probsbly 6 emails 6 text msgs to. Remind me that i need to provide more info

Fingers crossed as I was rejected at the first hurdle 12 months ago

My birthday yesterday - 21,000 bonus points credited to my account on the day BEFORE yesterday. Got to be happy with that.

Just another data point applying for Signature card ($179 first year fee / $4,000 trigger for 90,000 bonus points). I just hit my bonus points trigger early in the second statement cycle and got the 90,000 QFF points with my second statement. Very simple to apply, very simple process for the points.

Now that I have the QF bonus points I think I’ll switch over to Amplify Rewards points using the switching form as a Krisflyer 0.75 mile per $1 earn appears to me to be better than the QF 0.75 point per $1. And I have a Krisflyer reward in mind (plus ability to keep points at Amplify until ready to transfer to Virgin or SIA is nice).
