Just another data point applying for Signature card ($179 first year fee / $4,000 trigger for 90,000 bonus points). I just hit my bonus points trigger early in the second statement cycle and got the 90,000 QFF points with my second statement. Very simple to apply, very simple process for the points.

Now that I have the QF bonus points I think I’ll switch over to Amplify Rewards points using the switching form as a Krisflyer 0.75 mile per $1 earn appears to me to be better than the QF 0.75 point per $1. And I have a Krisflyer reward in mind (plus ability to keep points at Amplify until ready to transfer to Virgin or SIA is nice).
From now on right?
You csnt change 90k Qff bonus to Kris points retrospectively?

Yes you can switch at any time. I have had my card for over a year and took the QFF Bonus joining points and then later switched to to rewards so that I can collect the much more valuable (to me) KF points.

I changed by calling up.

But obviously. The bonus points you couldn't convert to Kris after you got them. Right?

Correct. It's not a retrospective change. QF's not going to refund the money St. George paid to provide the 90,000 QFF points "because the customer would rather earn points to fly a competitor to QF". They'd be crazy to do that.

Plus I select Qantas to get 90,000 bonus QFF points. If you selected Amplify you get 90,000 reward points that convert to 45,000 velocity or Krisflyer.

I decided to take the QFF 90,000 instead of the converted 45,000 Krisflyer or Velocity bonus points and then change to Amplify as after you have the bonus points all airlines partners earn the same 0.75 points/miles per $1

I wonder how the 10% birthday bonus will impact the regular points I earned while under the QFF earn option? Will those 10% bonus points be paid to QFF or just Amplify points?

I had made the required spend in the first statement period and kept using the card; bonus points allotted on issue of the second statement.

Yes, same here. I think if you keep using the card after reaching the required spend they will credit the bonus points promptly

Applied & conditionally approved for this tonight. I was pleasantly surprised to see gov / council spend not excluded from eligible spend, handy as rates & water bills are arriving this week.

card arrived in the mail after not hearing boo for a week,

happy as larry, as I got my last application a few years ago rejected!

How do we know how much to spend to get the points.
There are links for 5k and 4k

Met the $5000 spend requirement in the 3rd month, but the bonus 90,000 QFF points took an extra month to arrive. Tempted to start crediting to KrisFlyer now.

The link you use to apply for the card will tell you- I don't believe the $5k one is available any longer? I applied last week and it was $4k

I reckon that will be my plan too!

Awesome.. It's nerve wracking doing minimum spend and wondering if all the spend is counted :(

I applied last month, achieved minimum spend in first few weeks, recieved first statement with note of qf points applied but wrong qff number :(
Rang to change this last week and received letter today stating unable to transfer points to nominated account, of course dated last week.
The points havent landed in my account yet but I thought they at least tried hard ,even if they got my qff number wrong

Any thoughts on this - I'd be interested in knowing too, as I'm thinking of changing to Amplify points. Only around 500 QFF points at stake but better in my pocket than lost.....

I won't know until my birthday next year, but given I value 1 SQ point as worth at least 1.5 QF points, I was happy to do the switch even if it meant losing a small amount of QF points.

Partner got bounced for the ANZ Frequent Flyer (Platinum) via the Online Banking which has annual fee waived first year. Tried calling up to work out the numbers (due to a number of rental income and loan repayments) but they hinted their internal calculations based on where we live etc says she can't afford a card (despite having an existing $500 credit limit and she closed a $10000 limit Westpac card earlier). Our personal calculations show her savings to be over $4000 in surplus/month. They offered me an ANZ Frequent Flyer Black, though.

Annoyed, we applied for the St George Amplify (Platinum) for $99 and got approved within 2 hours after sending in rental income documents. So ANZ have some weird calculations so if you have issues with ANZ - give Westpac & St George a try. This was done 2 days after our first application so there'll be 2 immediate credit hits but it went through without any issues. Was considering Macquarie but people in the threads had some issues. Didn't want 2 rejected credit hits before getting another card.

Getting real close to the first million Amplify points so this card is a favourite. Nothing I have put on this CC has been a problem.
