SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

If it was a voluntary change you should have been charged a change fee I think

If there's been any schedule change on your itinerary (even 10 min), in my experience you can move +/- 7 days with no fees
Mine was a voluntary change of a married segment, had CGK-SIN & SIN-SYD booked together and needed to move the CGK flight to be earlier

Thanks for your replies, if it was a nightmare I'd just leave it as is.

I have a mixed experience when changing routes, it can be very easy or extremely frustrating. I’m currently trying to make a simple change from TLV-ZRH-LHR-SIN-MEL to TLV-ZRH-SIN-MEL as Saver availability popped up on the direct ZRH-SIN flight but computer says no. Even when trying to create a new booking they still couldn’t ticket and had to escalate it. The KF system has its issues but most can usually be solved by a competent agent who knows the workarounds. Problem is these agents are few and far between so need to HUACA and be patient.

The BKK-SIN leg has availability. The SIN-SYD does not, but I don't want to change that leg.
Worth a call but don’t expect success, if you do, a bonus.

Presumably you discovered this by checking BKK-SYD. Such are the vagaries of married sectors that there are times when both sectors have availability but the overall journey none, and other times vice versa where neither sector is available but the overall journey is.

If one cancels a F reward with SQ is there a penalty of points or fee? curious as I might need to do it

Changes are fee free if it's an Advantage booking, it only costs money if it is a Saver booking.

Of course, Advantage bookings cost a lot more points than Saver in the first place so either way they get you lol.

Was booked on SQ231 (A380 SIN-SYD) departing 0045 last night. Was delayed to 0330 due to technical issues then at 2330 we were told it was delayed until 0840 and to go get our hotel vouchers. Hotel was about 25 minutes away by taxi, we got there with many others, the hotel paid off the taxi, and we got a room with dinner (after midnight so no thanks) and breakfast plus a bus back to Changi. But we were basically getting four hours sleep at best before heading back. Then it was a new flight number (SQ9211) so we had to get new boarding passes. The plane was about 80 per cent full when I last checked the seating map two days ago but now it's lucky to be 50 per cent so some must have changed. The odd thing is the bathrooms are in poor repair. The mirror was off one wall behind the toilet stuck back on with tape to one side. The flush button was hidden by the mirror so I had to peel it off the wall to get to it. Mrs Warks also said the bathroom she used was in a bit of a state. Wondering if this plane was pulled back into service a bit early to replace last night's plane. Unlike SQ in my experience.
Anyway am still mid flight so we'll see how we go...

That's the second time in a week that it's happened to this flight - SQ are probably having some issues with their A380 fleet at the moment (similar to what's been happening with QF).

9v-SKP has been in regular service as far as I can tell for at least the whole of 2025
It also operated 2June SIN-SYD-SIN-LHR-SIN arriving back in SIN on 4June
Thanks. Got an odd comment from a desk agent at the transfer desk when he looked at the flight number about how it "wasn't a Singapore flight number". This was when we were told to get a voucher from the desk. (It turned out we were no longer entitled to a voucher at this stage.)

We are making up some time with this tail wind. Not much in the scheme of things but still.
