Unless you come across the new pox self checkin counters like MEL where ALL PBs are now white - I hate white BPs - it's just not cricket!!!
nice! thanks for the explanation!
going to be fliying a lot of J/F/R in the next few years to use up my expiring points!

Hi guys,

Have just finished reading through all 345 pages of this thread - it's been very informative and helpful to get my head around booking a suites award to Europe.

I've been doing dummy searches on KF to try and gauge availability for suites between SIN-FRA but I haven't been able to find any saver award availability, not even waitlist between 30 days to 354 days out. I have noticed the waitlist option finally opens up less than 30 days out only. Can someone else do a dummy search to confirm?

Cheers

just a general question, im flying F on SQ218
in about a months time
its a 00:05 departure
on the meal selection it has supper,

realistically, what time will this meal come out,
what do other fellow regulars do as obviously you dont want to intrerrupt your sleep too much?
do you ask for the meal straight away?

They will ask your preference to sleep or eat. On those late nights I go straight to sleep so never know what time others eat.

I just tell them I am taking sleeping tablet and do not wake me til landing - but just tell Crew what / how you want it and they will accommodate

You can choose after take off or before landing

I ate my lobster for brekky

oh, I did not know that, for next time then!

so which would you guys do old suites on A380 on a over night flight VS 777 on F?

also, for seat selection for a solo traveller which would you do for old suites?

on my plane I have 12 seats 1A/F, 4A/F have exits behind/ front, but from the diagram, 1A and 1F seem to have gap between 2A/F (not sure if its just the diagram),

so would the best for a Right hander be seats 2A/2F?
currently every seat is available?
I read somewhere that its good to book a centre seat so if next door is vacant you can almost use both

Go for the window seats in row 3 - they have 3 windows each instead of 2.

A quick question for those in the know.
Heading MEL to SIN in a few weeks with Mrs UXB in suites on SQ 218. I don't usually stop in SIN as the destination is always Europe so this is a first for me. We've decided to breakfast and shower in TPR before heading into town. I know I've read it here somewhere but what happens to the luggage. Do they leave it on or next to the carosel or take it somewhere?? Thanks in advance for any help
Cheers Danger UXB

After 'last bags' your bag will be taken to the left luggage area which is adjacent to the carousel. Make sure you enter Singapore through the terminal in which you arrived, otherwise you won't have the right bag claim area (so if you arrive T2 but use the lounge in T3, you must go back to T2 to enter Singapore and claim your bags).

As others have said they'll serve the meal pretty quick. Or you can have it delayed until closer to arrival. The flight should give you an hour or so to relax and enjoy the service. 4 hours to sleep. And another hour to have a coffee and wake up.

Agreed - is it just MEL that has these eyesore of a BP given out or have other ports shared the same fate too?
Can't believe that for one of SQ's "better" ports (5 flights a day surely would give MEL that honour) they have gone the way of cost-cutting. If I paid $$$$ for a R ticket and get handed a BP that looks like it came off an LCC I would be rightly offended...

Flew PE last month, pretty sure it was green as well.

So nobody wants to have a crack at what this is?
IMG_3514.JPG
It is simply a 'stool' found only in new R that serves 2 purposes:
1. It is the stool that a partner can perch on to enable 2 pax to dine together in 1 Suite - remember no ottoman in new R as in old or indeed in all F seats.
2. Footrest / leg rest is so short in new R that anybody over about 5' 10" or so is going to have half their lower leg extended over end of leg rest - so uncomfortable - so place this stool at end of footrest extended or deployed and then you have a complete footrest:
IMG_3493.JPG
And people wonder why I say the new R is simply hideous? But even worserer - when seats are deployed in forward facing direction footrest simply WILL NOT deploy as that position is deemed at Take Off or Landing:
IMG_3500.JPG
The only only time footrest can be raised to any level is when seat swivelled and facing TV - except !A and 1F which will rotate 180deg so can face partner in 2A or 2F and in this position footrest will also deploy.

Now bear in mind I think there is only 2 of these stools onboard so claim one quickly.
