I thought I‘d post some meals and menus from my recent trip in SQ First and Suites

December 2023 / Januarary 2024

SQ208 MEL-SIN B777 First
SQ221 SYD-SIN A380 Suites

Let’s start with MEL SQ SilverKris First Lounge

Well, nothing special here. I actually headed up to the Priority Pass former EY House Lounge for tarmac views. The food was nothing special and the champagne NV Mumm so don’t come early.

SQ Private Room Menus

There’s a different menu for Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Sorry I didn’t get the brekkie menu but you can imagine what’s on it… no caviar for sure.

Excellent lounge here. Rather boring without tarmac views, but such attentive service and amazing champagne menu - SQ will regret putting that Piper-Heidseick Rare 2007 on it.:p

I was able to use one of the day rooms with a bed overnight during a transit - 1am to about 7am without issue despite the lounge being closed between 2:30 and 5:30am.

Service was impeccable and nothing was too much trouble, such friendly staff. I just want a view of the tarmac as an a avgeek… but alas the $400 champagne will have to do.

Sorry I didn’t get pics of the food. The poached lobster was horrid as was the breakfast eggs. However, the Waygu Satay was amazing as was the beef noodles in black bean sauce.

Here’s the Rare :D

Meal onboard SQ208 MEL-SIN in B777 First

No menu for this as they are easily accessible via Singapore Airlines - In-flight Menu

So here is the food - oh they were serving 2004 Krug but only loaded one bottle of it  - had a good crack at it anyway.

Caviar starter - delicious although the blinis were a bit tough

Seared Salmon:

Book the cook - Grainfed Ribeye with truffle mac and cheese. Was delicious, love truffle although pretty sure just oil flavouring and no truffle was harmed in the cooking process.

Dessert - christmas pudding - without custard… not sure why i bothered, fairly unmemorable and dry - but i was so stuffed at this point wasn’t too concerned.

The standout from the wine list was this Bourdeaux:

Thanks for the review! You mentioned that you basically had a bed from 1 am to 7 am even though the lounge was closed from 2.30 - 5.30 am?

I have a layover from midnight till 12pm soon (flying in F) - do you think I would be able to get a room with bed throughout the hours when the lounge is closed?

Cheers.

Maybe not 12hours but certainly they’ll let you stay in them for ages and while the lounge is closed.
