So... what car do you guys drive when not flying?

Lol it would actually compete in the quad bike and ATV market

Would prefer a one model, one engine, one colour, no bling. AM/ radio. That’s it, keep it cheap

Buyers would be farmers and other land holders who would use it unregistered on the farm

Why pay $24000 for a Polaris Ranger ATV when you can get the Jimny for less

Don’t need the aircon model - just wind down the windows - manually of course

Who needs a car when you have a fleet of personal drivers available 24/7?

You have to wear a helmet driving a Polaris or similar on the road.. massive problem.
There are very few fun wheels that can go most places, open style, and are fun.
Old cruisers and jeeps (big clunkers) , Polaris toys (compulsory helmets) Beach buggys ( old and very expensive) Haflingers…...

Strange, I know, but some actually enjoy driving ourself. Just for a bit of fun, with nowhere particular to go, I went out and burnt some fossil fuel today in my open top car. Nice little hills road near CBR, smile on face.

I can’t understand it.
The smallest car in the VW range - Polo, has a full size spare while their largest SUV - Touareg has a space saver spare which has to be pumped up when used

I have about 4 weeks to go on my log book for 2019. My goldfish brown Lexus 600 hybrid is running well. Mrscove wants a new vehicle and she has her Lexus goggles firmly in place. She buys new and I have never done that. I prefer to get mine about $100,000 off each time so I have gone dark blue, white and now brown in the model that is no longer manufactured. The boot space is the only draw back.
Mrscove has plenty of space in the 450hybrid SUV but I rarely drive it as it doesn’t have a radar detector.

Secondhand luxury vehicles sell for about half the new list price before they are too old. So in 6 Lexus second hand cars I am thinking I still have about $500,000 saved and in my pocket since 1994. Of course it’s only money so you should drive the least expensive motor car that your ego will allow.

As long as it Getz you there Buzzard. I pay a lot more attention to my car if it decides it doesn’t want to go from A to B. That said I have had close to zero issues with Lexus provided a nail in a tyre doesn’t count.

What’s too old in your estimation @cove ?

Typically 3 years with 60,000 kms is what I have been buying. Sometimes younger and sometimes a little older Quickstatus.
Mercedes,BMW , Lexus and others all drop the moment they leave the showroom.
Cars may go electric sooner rather than later.
London wants electric starting in April 2019 but only Tesla has the range and boot to carry luggage for chauffeurs to get to the airport several times a day.
