So, I sold the motorsport Escort Cosworth body shell, never thought I would do that as it is probably the last unused brand new one in existence. Sapphire arrived today missing the extra parts, seems ok at first look, will know more next week.

The car in NZ is in good hands, no rush to get it here, in fact my friend can do some events in it if he wants to, can’t see their borders opening to the unclean for a while yet, so unlikely to get over there.

I have my rally friend in Germany on the lookout for a Trabant rally car, yep they do exist, even saw the factory team running in Finland in 1976.
Pinched from here. Suggestion: East German Trabant 601 Rallye

There's always this option - combining a classic car with speed

RallySafe.

Well this product was conceived after a serious accident at a Targa Tasmania event over 10 years ago. It’s now used in the World Rally Championship and the European Rally Championship, as well as rallies in the States, Canada, NZ and South Africa, plus others.

It is a brilliant piece of equipment, designed and developed in Ulverstone.
It measures g forces, speed and many other things, so it is very useful to help understand how accidents like this happen.

After the dreadful events of last year, there has been another fatality. :(

Condolences to family and friends.

Mr Smith said organisers would need to examine the car's RallySafe tracking and safety device, which records and transmits a range of data, to help work out what happened.

"My understanding is the RallySafe device is still in the car. It's currently being impounded by the police and we'll work with them over the coming days to sort through all of those, that data and try and get an understanding of what's happened," he said.

Mr Perry added that organisers could not have cars racing until they understood "all that data". unquote.

Very sad to hear.

Hopefully this won't be the end of competitive stages, I have been very keen to build a car recently and it would be a shame to have the event reduced to regularity.

I need another R32 GT-R in my life.

Friend in Jindabyne is on the warpath because the last LPG pump in town has closed. He now has to go to Cooma to buy LPG.

ABS says only 1.8% of registered vehicles have LPG as fuel type and is declining year on year.

The infrastructure is in the ground, AU is self sufficient in LPG. On fuel security grounds why is LPG not promoted.

Manufacturers are not importing LPG vehicles even though they are made - especially in the 4 cylinder class.

Where is ScoMo

My R32 was from Germany, not Japan.
