I like the idea, but until they can fix or replace the awful awful awful Tascent biometric systems and/or software they have in place at the moment, it's still going to be a nightmare for many who try to pass through, in either direction. My family and I arrived and departed twice from SIN (both T1 and T2) last month, and all of us, including myself - who has an SG ICA frequent visitor registration and stored biometrics - all failed to get through their new gates, after numerous attempts. We were much quicker through both KUL and SYD, with in-person clearance.

It’s funny different people trip different systems up. My partner breezes through Singapore (although granted we are PR) and Australia and was the fastest of three of us through the biometric gates exiting FCO last week, but he cannot enter via biometrics in the UK - failed at LHR T2, T4 and LGW.

What I do know from professional circles is that Tascent (these systems, at least) is failing in the game, the world over… I consider it no coincidence!
