SIN Lounge Crawl 11 June 2023

Added to Calendar: 11-06-23

From memory in 2019 we went to Jalan Alor (Alor Street) night market.
That was mentioned as well - it's not set in stone, I'm OK with anything really.

It is still an option. Petalang Street was just a bit easier to get to from Sentral, we could take the Monorail to Jalan Alor. Or do both - a 20 minute walk apart ...

@serfty I will not know what my plans are for about another week and will just go with the flow. IIRC I have eaten at the street vendor stores on Petaling Street in the past, it was quick easy and cheap. If I happen to get something I didn't like I just moved away binned it and moved on to something else. Also I find looking through the knock-off stores a bit interesting.

Thinking of the places to eat I revisited the 2019 KUL-SIN lounge crawl thread and it was @Hvr who made the recommendation for Jalan Alor so I can not take credit for this. Looking through my own photos this was the black pepper crab that @jswong and I hooked into before @JessicaTam said we had not got a photo. So the image below is reconstructed crabs evidenced by the crab on Jeff's plate, used dipping sauces on my plate, a picked through crab body on the main plate and someone trying to put back an empty crab claw on the left. I have always been a big fan of street food.

Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I'll be able to join in some of the lounges flying into SIN on 10/6 MH627 at 11.25am then departing on JQ8 at 9pm on 11/6. I'm Qantas WP and Prioritypass member so can use QF lounges and any prioritypass lounges.
Great to hear. A few of us won’t arrive until MH623 lands at 1440 so plenty of time to try any number of Priority Pass lounges before then. 🤣

I'll be overnighting in Singapore. But we'll aim to get back to the airport mid afternoon the next day I imagine. Providing I can do online checkin for my flight.

What's the earliest I can check in at SIN for an MH flight? I will have checked baggage.

@perk will need a physical BP to enter SIN airport flying with JQ.
Yes, there is the mandatory Jetstar "Passport Check" where they stamp your BP, even those from Early Check in. Maybe @perk could present a "home" printed BP at the JQ service desk and get a "proper" BP before heading to the passport check area.

Home printed BPs aren't accepted. I know that from personal experience!

I have clarified a bit in my post, but will elaborate. At T1, before immigration, Jetstar have an area near their check in counters where you present your BP and they weigh your carry on. Once all OK, they stamp our BP and put an "OK" tag on your carryon. Just before this same area is a service desk open all day where I am suggesting it may be possible to show an OLCI BP and get a "real" one.
