Hi all,
travelling back FRA-NRT-SYD on JL in Y+ tomorrow and would like to have a shower in NRT. I have had a look the JL website but cannot work out whether they have showers there. Has anyone been through the lounges and know whether they do? On the way over we had the free o/night at the airport hotel so didn't look for showers....
BTW Y+ on JL has been great, good seats, good service, lounge access and 300 QF SCs, definitely good value for money (~$3K) if you want to get to FRA in some comfort.
cheers
Bert

Yes according to this report from 2007:

"The new Sakura Lounge is a significant improvement on the old one. It is now equipped with truly awesome shower studios and complimentary shiatsu massage facilities. Wi-fi access is also complimentary, and there is a large business corner with ample supply of desktop PC's. The mezzanine level also offers excellent hot food catering. Bar facilities offer an average choice of drinks. Seating in the lounge is very comfortable and spacious. Overall, this lounge is now up to the standards of its competitors."

Thanks markis and serfty, showers at NRT Sukara lounge were indeed very nice.
Return flight in JL Y+ as good as on the way out.
cheers

Glad to hear your positive experience of JL Y+.
How was the food and drink selection? And did you get the chance to have a complimentary massage in the Sakura Lounge at NRT?
We are flying Y+ to CDG in less than 2 weeks. 340 SC for us as we are flying from CBR.
And as a bonus our SYD hotel is included on the way over (as well as at NRT) as there are no same day flights!!!

Hi Fifa,
drinks selection was good but the food was pretty much standard Y fare. The big plus for me in Y+ is the extra leg and shoulder room and Sakura lounge access . They have the same 38" seat pitch as QF Y+ but unlike QF Y+, these seats move within a 'shell' so you don't notice the person in front of you reclining. I thought the seats were more comfortable than QF Y+ too. IFE is OK, although not as many choices as QF and service is efficient and friendly. Will definitely look at JL Y+ again for next January's trip to the States (depending on availability).
I didn't grab the massage at NRT this time...
Have a good trip!
PS Caught the new A332 from SYD-PER yesterday, nice offering in Y with the new IFE system and seats, the J class seats looked pretty average though. They looked like new versions of the old B767/B734 J seats...

Thanks for the review bertflyer. I'm looking forward to the flights.
We also have JL Y+ booked to Japan next February.
The price is right and the SC are an added bonus! :D

QF lounge also has showers. Unless they've changed the shavers - do not request one. The bathroom attendant nearly fainted when she saw how much I'd cut myself with the single blade shaver !
