Actually you didn't include the option to exclude all business and FF pax from the lounge like it used to be when I first purchased my lounge membership.

That's what I vote for, get all non- paid QC riff raff out.

Qantas doesn't let them sit in business class section of the aircraft without a deduction of points, or, deity forbid, defile the forward toilet with their bottoms, so why does Qantas let them into the business lounge willy-nilly?

strange, they let me use the front toilet. By choice I go down to the rear one as the curve of the fuselage means I can't stand up properly. In that regard the front toilet is inferior, so you're are welcome to keep that. They also bring me papers from the business section. And of course I always get the nice seats in row 4. Pretty much just like business all for being a WP.

[*]Does not use taxis, but has a private car available on standby at all times in every QF port.

Qantas drive, it's called.

straitman, the poll is currently 8:10. It seems that many people agree with me.

Umm, I find that it is much easier to just agree with the misguided as they go away sooner. You haven't noticed this? :p

As a frequent domestic business traveller, I am am disappointed that I often need to wait behind a bunch of red e-deal-toting splice-eating WP riff-raff at the buffet and the bar.

There is a perfectly acceptable QP next door where the WPs can sit and recheck their seats at T-80, T-79, T-78 etc or whatever they do.

If QP wishes to continue to charge a premium for its business class passengers, it needs to get rid of the Holiday Inn-staying, taxi-using crowd and provide a true business class lounge for business class passengers.

russ, as one of your so called "riff-raff" I will happily hog the line to slow you getting your pizza and beer.. If that gets you all worked up, just post when you are in the lounges so I can book flights for the same time!

BTW wasn't a personal dig, but a general dig at people who buy a cheapo J ticket, and expeect the world to be delivered on a silver platter.

I think we are in concorde (excuse the pun!). I am also concerned about people who buy cheap tickets and want the silver platter. It's just that the silver platter in this case is the one with the apple pie on it in the business class lounge. Leave it for the people who paid, thanks!

Sorry, I haven't paid much attention to your posts in the past. I will try to keep an eye out for them in future.

nlagalle, I am in the T3 domestic J lounge each Sunday night. Do you need to book a flight? I thought the WPs had anytime access.

Poor Platinums lost anytime lounge access recently! :(

I don't like it in the Qantas Lounge. I want to be allowed back into the business lounge! Can I please change my vote in the poll?

As I live in Melbourne, I must fly up. As for ATA, well I couldn't use it anyway...

russ, the debate has already been had on "valuable flyers" QF deem any WP a "valuable flyer" hence access to the J lounge - oh and F lounge too. Removal of these would mean the benefit was the same as Gold, so why bother - and money lost to QF.

And lastly russ, the Business lounge was not set up just for Business class passengers - it's just called that. Perhaps they should have called it The Emerald City Lounge? That way we could ask all the J travelling riff-raff to leave!!

Actually, it would be called Sapphire City (excluding our own Gold members) lounge. Sapphire members from all other oneworld programs have access.

Well, I should admit that I don't actually agree with people as a good "discussion" is much more fun. I was just taking something from SWMBO's book, and I did water it down a bit, who tells me that I should just agree with mentally disturbed people yada, yada, yada. See how I watered it down to misguided.

Ok, now I'm really confused. Concorde71 said cheapo business (J) fares. So do you want to exclude business flyers from the business lounge as well? Perhaps you're poll need that option as well exclude business riff raff on cheap buisiness tickets.

Don't mention the war:!:

Dave Noble (gee I really miss him :() mentioned many times about how AA sapphire did not get access to the Business lounge.

Not sure why not - the only exception seems to relate to QF members:

Sapphire: When travelling on any oneworld member airline, any customer with Sapphire tier status is welcome (with one guest travelling on a flight operated and marketed by a oneworld airline) at any oneworld airlines' pre-flight Business Class and frequent flyer lounges regardless of class of travel.

Exceptions:
1. American Airlines AAdvantage® Program: American Airlines AAdvantage® Program members, regardless of their tier status, may not use lounges when travelling on solely North American itineraries (defined as within or between the USA, Canada, Mexico [except Mexico City], the Bahamas, Bermuda and the Caribbean). In these cases, access rules are governed by American Airlines' own rules (ie paid lounge-access membership).
2. Qantas Frequent Flyer Programme: Qantas Frequent Flyer Gold members may not use the Qantas Domestic Business Class Lounges.
