Simple answer for me is a big NO

Why not just pump the drugs into the air system so we can all sleep without worrying about legroom or personal space.
Airlines can fit more people on board, nobody will need to eat, and passenger complaints will drop off since nobody remembers what a terrible experience it was!

We have in the past when the kids were less than 2yrs old. We did a trial run at home one night prior to travel to ensure that there were no side-effects/contraindications.

That's actually not a bad idea. Sleeping class? Or unconscious class? Or simply cattle class....

One of our kids has the opposite of the desired reaction. I tried phenergan just recently for myself and felt awful for 24 hours. I'm now a No person.

My 4 years old has flown to Dubai x 2, Turkey, South Africa, Bali and numerous east / west domestic flights and we have never given her drugs. On some occasions, when she is crying and carrying on, I wish I had some, but No. Since I have had kids I and more relax about crying and misbehaving kids on planes.

We use technics like; late overnight flights, day flights, iPad, books, drawings and making stuff we saw on Mister Maker...

I've never done it and I take my children overseas annually, sometimes more. That said I purposefully chose day time flights with long rest stops. The idea of having a night time flight with my bouncing two would be the death of me.

Non- pharmacological techniques should be used. As mentioned above some children experience the opposite effect with sedating meds.

Not for kids but I can certainly understand why it would be tempting.

But myself I'm always up for a liquid sedative.

If there's folks out there that won't give their children drugs to fight off deadly diseases, then there'll be plenty who won't do it to help them sleep.

I think it takes a village to raise a child, so anyone, not just the parents, ought to give children drugs to help them sleep.

We have lived longer and healthier due to medicine however kids aren't going to die due to lack of sleep. Grumpy, screaming etc YES, but they won't die. We use technics like; late overnight flights, day flights, iPad, books, drawings and making stuff we saw on Mister Maker...
