Hi all,
Turned platinum last week after a busy 6 months for work.
I have 3 bookings in the system. 2 are international and the other domestic (obviously).
I have not been able to change any of my already selected seats, which I found strange. I booked a flight yesterday and could only select Row 6 back on a 738. Is row 4 & 5 for CL & WP1 ?
Also can someone please advise their seat preference for J class on refurb 744 and series 2 A380 setup. Thanks to all who respond .

Yes, Row 4 & 5 Domestic are reserved for CL and WP1.
At T-80 you should be able to select them on occasion.

By the way, I was able to select 1A on the refurb 744 to LAX and on the A380 I have selected 11A. Please comment on seat selection. It's early enough for me to change.
Cheers all

Row 6 is the best Platinums can do at booking time.

Generally with most of my bookings I am the first person to pre-allocate a seat anywhere near the front of the cabin and on the less busy flights I am able to move to row 4 at T-80 hours.

On the A380 anywhere in Emerald City (rows 11-13) is better than in the main barn.

I've got Row 13 in the A380 with my father for QF9 in November. Is row 12 all that much better? (And is R12 limited to WP only? I'm SG at this point).

Be aware that for international flights, WP get selection from the front row back.

However, fot domestic flights there are restrictions until T-80; in Economy it's the third row back and the second row back in Business.

Thanks for all who chose to reply.
will stick with 1A in the 744 and 11A in the A380 on return from LAX.
Happy and safe flying.

Personally I couldn't care less what someone else thinks of a seat unless that seat was totally unsuitable and should be avoided at all costs.

I like to form my own opinion.

And by the way I have never had an issue sitting in a exit row on an A330 or a 747 yet some people on AFF report that their feet are always kicked. Does that mean I should have avoided exit row because of someone elses experience?
