Seat selection issues on Qantas website?

Not on iPad/Chrome it isn't - still just goes to the top of the page if you try to click on change seats.....

Still down for me too - Windows PC; Chrome. Fortunately there are work-arounds but it is frustrating and surely an easy fix??

Developer tools > Toggle Device Mode (iPhone is fine) > Visit Qantas mobile site and boom, update seats.

Qantas have no idea when it will be solved. At least they should put an announcement on the main page to advise customers?

This problem is the reason I found this thread. Seat Selection not working this morning on Safari. Just goes to top of page and tries to open the link but nada.

Made a booking yesterday and was unable to select seats using edge, Firefox nor chrome (don't do iAnything).

Remembered this thread and was able via the Android app.

Similar problem today using IE11 and chrome but was able to select using app on my iphone7. Could it be something to do with the two factor authentication change. I've avoided it so far.

Surely seat selection is one of the least risky things one can do that would be a concern in any two-factor security scenario. But who knows.

Beyond a joke that it is still a problem.

Booked flights a few days ago and no problems doing seat selection on Firefox

I was able to access seat selection this morning using Chrome. After I had to input the second SMS code on login.

Looks like the Qantas booking engine now displays the seat map while making a booking, and you are also able to select seats before the booking has been complete. Good update from the previous situation.

That's a good improvement actually like AA

A positive enhancement.. who'd have thunk it?! Well done!

I loathe the new booking engine interface.

Good change. Certainly handy for those without EF.

Although the AA system won't accept QF ff numbers at the initial booking stage giving an error like "name does not match ffn" or similar.

You have to leave the ff field on the default of AAdvantage then end transaction and go back into the pnr to add your QF ffn in then select your preferred seats.

I have noticed to get the full Elite seat selection you need to log in before beginning your search.

Logging in during the process still presents one with full clarity on the availability of seating for NB's.

Free International Seat Selection??

I have just booked Miss Aus ATC (QF NB) a Lufthansa Ticketed flight to FRA, with the first leg on QFA97 BNE-HKG. The Lufthansa PNR worked on the Qantas site, and the manage my booking function allowed me to select a seat without any obvious charge being requested - though it does say on the MMB page there is a charge of $35 for International flights.

Have I been able to select the seat for free, or can we expect an invoice later (there is no Credit Card associated with her account)?

I'd doubt you'd receive an invoice if it didn't charge for seat selection where it is supposed to.

The fee doesn't to all fare buckets any longer for those flying in Y and without status.
