Seat selection issues on Qantas website?

Anyone else had issues selecting seats via manage your booking?

Have a booking for April to Singapore and back for my wife and I.

I was able to select seats after booking and secured exit rows back but last couple of days all i get is a message that "we can't display the seat maps for this flight"

They say to call us - all well and good, but not much use to peruse what is available to see if anything better comes up. The fligtt up is award and back is pay but that shouldn't make any difference.

Sometimes they swap out aircraft and this causes the seat selection to disappear. I had no issues for flights to LAX and NEw York for April I managed to chose a few good seats yesterday.

What frequent flyer status are you? I gather that for the return flight you paid for the exit rows.

Can you call up reservations and ask them to select seats for you on the outbound flight?
 
There are a couple of possibilities (aircraft swap may be one, or the allocation % has been reached so the system won't let you select a seat), so best to call. If you want to see the seat map whilst calling QF, create a free expert flyer account.

I am Gold, yes paid coming home.

I have seats selected outbound, just not great ones, but best of the rest that was available, I will have a look on expertflyer, but it's easier to just check the seat map as seats do become available because people upgrade or change flights, hard to do that on the phone (especially with reports of 4 hr waits!)

Expertflyer shows pretty much the whole aircraft available - rows 23, 24, 45 blocked, I have 25 F, G but I normally try for an aisle bulkhead or exit.

Having booked flights on Expedia.com.au all segments have QF numbers, just first segment is QF metal and my seat is secured. The other 2 are not. I'm pushed between expedia and other airline. I'm told the seat plan can't be opened. Strange.

Today there is an outage in the Amadeus ticketing system ( as mentioned earlier in this thread)...

It is problematic to the website seat selection GLOBALLY as I understand.

Have a google, there may be news of repairs and whatnot.

For the last few days, using Chrome, I have not been able to view Seat Selection, however it works fine on IE. I have reset Chrome history but to no avail. My inability to view using Chrome would not appear to be connected to the Amadeus issues affecting QF today given the timing.
 
There has been a problem with seat selection in Safari and Chrome for the last few days. Works fine in Firefox...
 
Well, I don't know whether it is coincidental or not, but my A380 MEL-LAX flight next March changed to a 787. Looks like the schedule for most of March is MEL-LAX Mon 787, Tue 787, Wed 380, Thu 787, Fri 380, Sat 787, Sun 380; LAX-MEL Mon 787, Tue 787, Wed 380, Thu 787, Fri 380, Sat 787, Sun 380. Looking at the timetable on the QF website, this seems to be temporary - reverting to a 380 in both directions every day by the end of March. Annoying for me though - I'd booked in F and now need to shave a day off my trip at either end to stay on the 380.
 
Website seat selection doesn't work for me as well. I have to go via the Qantas mobile app to view available seats. It's been like this for about 3 days now.
 
Having that issue now although they say there is no glitch...click on selected seats to change and it goes to top of page again. Have tried on ipad and mac book. Is this what happened to you? Did it come right eventually?

Exact same issue for me on Apple devices - use QF app on phone to select seats
 
Thank you, did as suggested and android phone and Google chrome worked. Have been messaging Qantas re this and they not responding so just added in that obviously there is a glitch with Apple etc...will see if it gets sorted or even if I get a response

This was happening to me. Using Chrome on iPad and then desktop with windows 10 and Chrome. While I was trying on the desktop a chat window opened up and after I explained the problem the agent said they were updating the website and offered to change the seat for me.

However by that time I had managed to change it using the Qantas App on my iPhone -3rd time lucky :)
