Hi everyone, if I make a booking for an international flight as a Platinum FF and select a front exit row seat in Premium Economy on Qantas A380 (which I think may normally only be available to Platinum passengers??), but I then drop to Gold status before I fly, will I automatically lose my selected seats?...... Or are they likely to remain as selected when Platinum (as long as I don't attempt to change them manually once 'Gold')?

Many thanks for your help!

Hi EGNT-QFF,

There are a few threads on here complaining of their status at booking remaining through onto their BPs even though they have achieved a higher status subsequently (I've seen this myself, too). That tends to suggest that it would work in the opposite direction: that as long as you don't remove/re-enter your QFF Number against the booking, the system will treat the booking as WP status until the time you fly.

Others may have contrary experience in reality ...

Regards,

BD

I hope this works on VA too. I've got the coveted row 5A & C in J LAX-MEL booked for October as WP, but will drop to SG before then.

Since you have to pay for an exit row on an international flight as a WP then you should retain it even if your status drops.

As long as there is not an aircraft substitution or you go into the booking to try and change seats then I think your seat allocation should be fine.

No need to pay for exit rows in premium economy or above.
