Scoot Delays/Cancellations

Monday 20 May 2019 finds TR18, the redeye from SIN down to MEL arriving at a suggested 1131, 31 late with B789 9V-OJI.

With heavy rain around Sydney on the evening of Thursday 29 August 2019, and earlier fairly significant wind, TR12 from SIN to SYD has thus far had to hold above Cowra, then near Crookwell and finally north of Goulburn so arrival for B789 9V-OJJ looks to be about 2031, 46 late despite this 1000 hours SIN - SYD taking off basically on time at 1024 this morning.

Saturday 9 November';s 2019 TR2, the scheduled 0210 hours redeye from SIN to SYD must have tired passengers as it took off at 0552. B788 9V-OFC had to hold east of Boorowa so estimated arrival is 1622 hours, 202 minutes late. TR3, the returning 1400 hours SYD - SIN will be unable to depart until at least 1715 hours.

On Monday 25 November, TR12, the 0715 hours early morning from SIN down to SYD that took off at 0742 hours with B789 VH-OJJ has been forced to hold northeast of Goulburn- a lengthy one. Nominal arrival is showing as 1840, half an hour behind schedule.

TR24, the Friday 10 January 2020 is the timetabled 0945 hours SIN down to MEL airborne at 1038 hours with B789 9V-OJC. Expected arrival has become 2051 hours, 36 behind.

Thursday 30 January's TR25 (B789 9V-OJD) did not take off until 0030 on Friday 31 so SIN arrival (ex MEL) should be at 0453 hours, 83 behind the schedule.

On Tuesday 2 March 2021, TR25, the 2230 hours MEL - SIN has been cancelled, probably another casualty of Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews' refusal to accept any overseas passenger arrivals. This flight was also cancelled yesterday, but as this stage TR19, an 1800 hours MEL - SIN is showing as operating on Wednesday 3.

TR19 (1800 hours MEL up to SIN) has been given the boot on Friday 5 March 2021. Scoot appears to be cancelling all its flights into MEL, probably another casualty of Premier Andrews' refusal to accept inbound quarantining passengers, leaving the hard work to Premier Berejiklian in NSW, whose handling of COVID-19 has been far superior to Victoria.

TR19 (1800 hours MEL - SIN) is also not running on Sunday 7 March 2021, and nor is TR19, the 2230 hours on the same route on Monday 8. Scoot are in symmetry with some other airlines that have cancelled all their international flights to and from MEL while the Victorian Premier refuses to accept international arrivals for quarantine, in contrast to the burden that NSW is carrying (and successfully handling).

On Friday 12 March 2021, TR19 (1800 hours early evening MEL - SIN) is again cancelled.

There are only five other international flights from MEL today (although SQ has one at 0035 tomorrow morning as well).

Wednesday 24 November 2021 has seen TR18, the 0800 SIN down to MEL (B789 9V-OJI) not become airborne until 1147. Arrival should be at around 2147, 187 minutes behind the timetable. TR19, the 1940 hours MEL - SIN may be able to depart at about 2300 if all goes well, which would be 200 minutes tardy.

B789 9V-OJJ on Thursday 21 April 2022 operated the 1000 hours SIN - SYD TR12 that despite the aircraft having overnighted in SIN did not become airborne until 1145 hours. Arrival was 67 minutes late at 2052 hours.

TR13, the redeye return working has been delayed from 2045 hours in departure to a claimed 2140, which seems to me to be a little optimistic.

UPDATE: TR13 took off at 2234, arriving SIN on Friday 22 April 2022 at 0431 hours, 81 minutes behind schedule.

Wonder if SQ group operate like the Qf group where they have overlapping international services and transfer passengers from the LCC to the parent following a cancellation?

It was now pretty long ago but when our SCOOT flight Sin - Per in 2019 was cancelled due to engine problems in Rolls Royce equipped 787's we were all put onto a old SQ 777. We were booked into ScootPlus so got put into the old regional J seats and got a much better meal and use of the entertainment system so were very happy.

On Sunday 29 May 2022, TR3 (1225 hours lunchtime SYD - SIN) has been axed. It's possible that passengers are transferred to SQ flights.

With the heavy rain in SYD not just during the evening of Sunday 3 July 2022 but earlier, TR13, the 2045 hours SYD - SIN (B789 9V-OJI) had not departed by 2211 hours.
