Scathing Qantas Article

the great sense of entitlement.

Everyone wants Qantas to do everything for them, but they are not willing to pay for the service. when it comes to the crunch these idiots will cop the 4 hr delay and fly tiger any way.

Who cares, i have given VA a chance when they did status matching, and it is simply not the same. If i feel like getting served by 23 year olds bartenders on a plane i can do that any day.

I choose QF for a reason and it is simply the best product in Australia, and its QFF programme is one of the best on the world.

Totally agree. In the end of the day you pay for what you get and QF is hard to beat in their overall product quality. It's not only the best in Australia (I think most will agree with that) it's also one of the best in the world. Their PE is the best I have experienced and their J is at least on the top 10. QFF is a great program as well as epicure for wine lovers.

As a general rule I agree with the several previous posts, with one exception - J to Perth from Melbourne or Sydney. Virgin's service is consistently good on these flights, the consistent use of A330s with lie-flat beds is great compared with a lottery on QF, the entertainment screens are larger, the food is better and there's a choice of all three courses, the blankets, pillows and amenities kits given out automatically seal the deal.

Even I have had reasonable success rate at changing flights on cheap red e-deals with Qantas. I do not ask that often though.
FWIW I arrived at BNE airport at ~6:00pm for a 7:25pm flight to SYD.

I went to business class check-in as I have 2 bags to check-in and as he was about to tag the bag and hesitated and said what about I get you on the flight leaving 30 minutes earlier. No problems with me as long as I can get a similar seat.

Swapped 23J for 23J on earlier flight. :)

And the good thing is both flights are delayed.

Yawn, what a boring and outright stupid article- as per usual aimed at those idiots who fly on Jetstar twice a year and somehow expect to get a free flight out of that :D

I for my part have been pretty happy with Qantas lately. Four upgrades from J to F in only two months, several lovely visits to the Flounge with equally lovely massage treatments in the spa and several mostly pleasant JASA flights throughout Australia for nothing more than a bit in taxes and surcharges- I cannot complain! :) And, may I add, Qantas cannot either as I certainly spend enough on them both myself and through funneling business travel towards them. A pretty fair give and take relationship in my eyes!

did some people who 'liked' this post really mean to officially 'like' the sentiments expressed in the first sentence?

I was flying back to Brisbane on Friday from sydney and checked in at QP, there was a guy in front of me on the 4pm flight to MEL (it was 2pm). He asked about getting an earlier flight (the 3pm) and the lady said "we don't usually but I will have a look". He didn't get his 3pm but did get the 3:30pm with the usual cant be assured catering so have something to eat here.

There is always going to be some problem at some point, in my case its very rare, QF have looked after myself & Mrs Lime very well over many years, if a problem does occur they do their very best to rectify it, if not totally to ones satisfaction just grin and bare it, as sometimes its not possible.

I don't recall having a complaint about the QF service either, there J service has been excellent and the greeting on board by name is nice, food bit of a mixture but overall fine. QF will improve from here on once some of the old clunkers have gone and been replaced.

What old clunkers are are referring to - aircraft, FAs or passengers? :)
