Thanks NM, I was going to ask on the SC earn for the economy sectors, you are a mind reader.

I have checked those segments out and indeed segments lga-cmh-stl-den do not have any first class. AA flights DEN-DFW do offer first.

To many regulars on this board and elsewhere, including myself, it would almost be anathema do do something like that. i.e. Throw away a couple of hundred Status Credits.

I would be more inclined to buy those lga-cmh-stl-den tickets directly from AA. They can be had for as little as USD316!

Then you have three NA segments you can use elsewhere, all earning first class points and SC's.

YMMV...

I understand where you are coming from, but I have a real time problem, and those airports are where I have to get to, to meet my US comrades to tour around the country drinking beer and looking at the scenery. Might have to do some work though.

I should almost requal for WP in this trip, plus a Syd-perth-Syd ticket I have ploncked in the middle there after seeing advice on another thread. It is saving us nearly $1200. And this only 2 months after my anniversary date. Dont get me wrong, it urks me to lose all the points and status credits ie the asia segments, the 2 europe and the 1 NA, not including the 3 economy.
