jfk-bos-cmh-stl-den-dfw-yvr-lax I can only see seven segments as lhr-jfk and lax-syd seem to be classed as intercontinental, can you advise.
Also with NM's suggestion jfk,lga-cmh-stl-den-dfw-yvr-lax is only six, but the yvr-lax is still the problem
I think what Kiwi Flyer means is since you can't go YVR-LAX - you've to go YVR-DFW-LAX, you'll have 8 NA segments.
Yes, you counted 7, but it's a mute point because it's an invalid routing.
Edited to add: Is the order of the city important? I don't know whether this will work, perhaps NM or Kiwi Flyer can advise. Can you catch the QF107, stop at LAX for a few days, continue to JFK also on QF107. Since it's the same flight number, it's still one segment (is this allowable)?
If you go LAX-JFK-BOS-CMH-STL-DEN-DFW-YVR-LHR, assuming LAX-JFK doesn't count, then you can fit it with 6 segments. Worst case will be you buy an extra segment, making it 7. Of course, you'll buy the shortest and cheapest one...
