Rockfords discussion

My first thought was the meaning of bud burst: the period in early spring during which grapevines, which have been dormant through the winter, first begin to produce new shoots. So a bridage, or group, who get the first crack at buying the wines (after Stonewallers of course).

"Bud Burst Brigade" is what Rockford have named their mailing list members.
Anyone on the mailing list who have a bit of ordering history under their belt (that's my understanding of eligibility but YMMV) have a good chance of purchasing 3 each of the BP and BS

I sent an email last week because I forgot your membership # is also your password, so the system locked me out. Anyway, since I've been a member for two + years, they let me order 3 each of 2016 Basket Press and 3 Sparkling Black. So I took it up along with a few dozen other things.

Happy Days!

I think with the shutdown of the cellar door and a general decrease in wholesale sales to venues will see the availability increase. I suggest anyone who is not a member and after some Rockford wine to give them a call. You may be surprised as to what you can get compared to “normal” years waiting on the mailing list.

Email landed from Rockfords.
Dear Bundy Bear,

We promised to never bombard you with emails and we never have. Under the current circumstances we thought you wouldn’t mind if there was an exception to the rule, which is why we’re writing to you today.

Given that we’ve lost two thirds of our cash flow because our Cellar Door and the nation’s restaurants are closed, we now have to go through the difficult process of adjusting to the daily challenges of the next couple of months. We’ve decided to fully inform you by bringing forward the May mail out in the form of a letter – it will explain what’s happening in detail. You can expect this letter to land in your post box in a few weeks.

An order form will be posted with the letter as usual, but in the meantime if you’d like to order some wine from us the mail order and membership side of Rockford is fully operational and there are people ready to talk to you. Please give us a call.

We hope you and your family are coping as well as possible during this extraordinary time.

I should give them a call.

I went to the web site today, thinking I should order something. Ooops ... already maxed out all the limited purchases. Moral - check collection before going to web site.

I would have thought given they're not selling Black Shiraz and Basket Press at the cellar door, they might open up more allocation to Stonewallers (unless all sold out?). You'd really think cash flow would be king more than ever now.

Yes, I think I'll give then a call tomorrow. Alicante was already sold out, I think and I might have got more BP than was strictly allowed, before 😄

Yes they definitely are, allocations have been doubled
