Rockfords discussion

Went to visit Rockford yesterday. I noticed a general tend amongst the reds to be a little more restrained and elegant which was rather pleasing. Alcohol levels also seem to be coming down a little.

They have some rather old, but recently disgorged Black Shiraz available to Stonewallers. Not available for tasting. I decided to bite the bulle and purchased a bottle of the 1991 tiraged.

Howdy all. Long-time-no-post but thought I'd ask if anyone is playing in the Rockford Black Magnum this year?

I really would like to, but it's a bit hard to fit everything in.

And my golf game hasn't been too good of late after I hurt my shoulder.

My golf game has never been that good - but the event and the 200 guest dinner in the Chateau Tanunda barrel room is a savage affair. Just put it on the bucket-list (as opposed to the basket-pressed-list)

I did read in the Rag that it had grown to a bit "too big"

Just in case anyone is interested, I'm running another wine tour that includes a visit to Rockford. We get looked after rather well with a private tasting in the barrel room that runs for 2 or so hours.
20 places have already been filled so there are only 5 remaining. Hurry along if you want a spot.

Well it it's Tuesday I'm in ADL but not available (clients already booked me up). Doubt I will get to ADL any other time this year.

Had a 2005 Rockford Riesling on the weekend, beautiful perfumed honey and pear notes but felt she was probably a little past its prime as she was lacking freshness i was craving on the sweaty and sultry saturday sydney evening. Lovely though and I would call her up again without hesitating
