That's just awesome, at least status runs will become a little bit more interesting.

They have been trialling it for ex ORD flights since middle of last year. (I had selected a meal last week for some ex ORD flights next month).

Good to see it's been expanded.

Experienced it for breakfast LAX - DFW in Dec and JFK - LAX in Jan... worked well but the QF food SYD-PER leaves AA JFK-LAX for dead!

What did you get offered on all legs?
IME AA short haul F food is pretty good...

This is a nice addition, I haven't noticed it before but my flights with AA are usually short and there is no meal service anyway.

Has anyone had any luck with the QF version of this? In December for my DFW-SYD booking I was emailed and sent a link to select my main, which I did. But it was clear that the cabin crew hadn't received this information as it was business as usual with the menus.

Seems to be still in the bedding down stages, there's a whinge thread on FT of FA's having no clue about it and continuing with FEBO.
A welcome initiative though and looking forward to trying it out :)

As posted on FT, it seems not all FA's bother to make use of information/training sessions.

Can someone please tell me if this is possible to still do, if I have booked via QF with FF?

thank you

Ring up Qantas and see if they can tell you the six-letter AA (Sabre) PNR/record locator for your booking. Once you have that, you should be able to enter it at aa.com and select your seat and meal.

Thanks for that. I went to Check My Trip and got the AA PNR from there.

I then had difficulties at AA website as it kept giving me a Error message. So I rang QF to see if the PNR number was correct, it was but they then transfered me to AA in Brisbane. The person there was clueless and kept saying I could only select special dieteray meals. I read out to her what their website said about pre-selecting the 'Entree' but she kept insisting that that wasn't the case and I could only select diet meals or do it at the airport. Thanks to thread, I knew better and between gritted teeth, graciously ended the call.

I then went back to the AA website and figured something out that finally worked and allowed me to select the meals I required (think I might of been on the .com.au version initially).

I looked at the meal thing on my bookings a while back and I was very disappointed, not in that I could do it, but rather I have had the surprise of how cough the meals are spoilt in advance.

AA HNL-DFW-MCO-MIA-SJU today, all with pretty much the same meal repeated every flight.

I had to have a laugh at your comment, because after just going through all the hastle of booking online, I was then faced with a choice of a) Cereral with yoghurt or b) Cornbeef Hash

Winner, winner chicken dinner......... Oh wait Winner, winner, Cornbeef Hash.

Seriously, pre selecting your meals on AA is like peeking out the back of the factory that makes McDonald's chicken nuggets.

For one of my flights it only gave me one option. AA need to up their F meal offering - but as long as they are offering cheap QFF SCs, I won't complain too much!

I pre ordered breakfast for a flight this morning, and it turns out it wasn't even one of the available options.
