Redeem gift voucher: prices 25% higher?

This would be very attractive to an ACCC commissioner.

It would be, but I'd prefer we don't encourage QF to go updating their gift voucher system please....

Who needs integrity when you have cornered the market? As a QF elite are you really going to take a VA flight next time?
I manage status on both so can go to other side if flights suit.

I just think Qantas are very poor with their IT and don't spend time fixing glitches.

I honestly do not think this is some grand conspiracy here as noted above. It's bloody poor yes and like most QF "oddities" there are ways to get around it/work with it

I for one am not calling out the lynch mobs over this one

As I recall in the recent past, there were similar glitches with the SC earn BKK to ports in Oz from memory. Many advised that QF were informed, and nought done about it for some time. A number stated that follow up to redress the error was unlikely. It seems to be another example of the consistently inconsistent QF systems. They are supposedly a first world airline after all.

I believe you're referring to BKK-KUL which has now been fixed. I don't think that was intentional.

'E' class airfares are only a recent addition to sales. When I called recently to make a revenue booking for 2 year old daughter (not using gift vouchers) via call centre I was quoted 'Q' class airfare which was quite expensive. The consultant could not see 'E' class airfares on that system and had to switch systems to book the 'E' class airfare I knew existed on that flight.

Again I don't think that's intentional but not given the focus that it deserves. I work in IT and you'd be amazed the number of bugs/glitches that are known and not investigated as their impact on the system is not significant enough to worry.

I had the problem this week. The fare I was looking at was $1240 on sale. Trying to use a voucher, the cheapest available was $3694 fully flex. Pathetic.

FYI I have noticed this seems to have been fixed (for now, anyway). I am getting expected prices again :)

Bumping this thread. I was wondering how many people have had luck with getting the fares they can see on the website? I have a gift voucher I am trying to use to fly MEL-DPS via SYD in J. When I book as a multi city for 2 adults and 1 child, I can get a price of approx $4k. When doing as one way or using gift voucher, both options price at close to $6k. I have called QF and so far have been told they can't see the fare so can't book it. Other than HUACA, any other tips?
