I wonder if we could get a clarification of policy regarding quoting on-line publications, including those behind paywalls? Obviously a lot of it going on at the moment and I see a bit of a clean-up today. I had a look on the T&Cs but couldn't see what I was after ( doesn't mean it's not there!).

On line stories may or may not be behind paywalls. They might be linked to and/ or quoted from, in either case.

Quotations need to be 'reasonable use' (I think the term is) for copyright reasons ( or is it 10%?) in any case, and should be sourced.

But links:.

* Is it ok to paste a paywalled link and a PW breaker such as 12 ft ladder?

* Is it Ok to paste the link where the 12 ft ladder has already been used?

* Is it OK to paste a quote, with the source stated, but not linked to?

Thanks

Intrested too...I like climbing 12 ft ladders. ;)

You really think it would be considered acceptable to post paywall stealing links to steal paid content from other publishers and the post it on a forum? That is owned by… a publisher?….

Or even tell people to go and use a paywall stealer by name to avoid paying the publisher for their content? Mmmmmm.

Some comment here.

While posting of paywall breaking tools does not directly contravene instruction, the use of or the promotion of such in relation to posting on AFF may result in AFF being subject to copyright breach.

As a result a decision was made by management to disallow this.

No
No
No, not without an attributing link.

In relation to quoting, that can be ok as long as the quote does not represent a substantial portion of the article and a link to the original article is included.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements

Well, actually, if you read carefully, I'm asking AFF what the policy is. 😎 Mmmmmmm ...

BTW as far as I can tell, the PW breakers are only giving a short cut to what anyone can do with a bit of understanding as to how Google works.

Thanks for the clarification.
