Quick Etihad Baggage allowance question for Velocity Silver

Hi FFlyers,
A quick questions that I hope someone might have had experience with.

I am flying with Etihad from Mel - Dub in Y. I am a velocity Silver. I booked the flight directly with Etihad. As part of the benefits listed on the velocity website under Travel Benefits : International Partners -> Etihad ( Silver Membership | Velocity Frequent Flyer ) it says I should be allowed 10kg additional baggage allowance, however when i rang Etihad call center yesterday I was told that I did not have any additional allowance as a velocity member. I stated that on the velocity website it told me I did, they said they would look into it and get back to me (very unlikely)
Has anyone been able to utilize this additional allowance already? Or is this a false promise on the velocity website, I don't want to arrive at the airport thinking I have this additional allowance to be charged extra.

Any help would be appreciated.

Flash your silver card at check-in and it should work they may need to check with a supervisor but you are entitled to it. I have done it previously.
