I got a Classic rewards booking via Qantas and flying with MH. I rang MH wanted to add an infant to the booking but was told to ring Qantas as the tickets were issued by Qantas. Any idea if this is accurate? I was put on hold for too long when ringing Qantas so thought of verifying with any users who had similar experience. Ta

Thanks for clarifying. With redemption ticket, how much would an infant tix cost? I know normally itd be like 10% of the ticket price if buying but wonder how it works on redemption?

Spoken to QANTAS re 4 separate bookings that needed to add my infant. Only 2 e-tickets were issued and another 2 showing booking not confirmed on Malaysia Airlines website. Then rang Qantas again they hand-ball me back to MH, the Qantas customer service team's knowledge seem to be inconsistent..

Depends on age of infant. If under 2 then 10% - but note that there is no seat. 10% of the available adult ticket less any attached taxes and fees.
Over 2 yrs need to buy a child seat ticket
You may or may not get a bassinet but note that a bassinet also has a 11kg weight limit. Some 1 year old boys can be over 11kg
Plus when the seat belt light comes on you are required to take the infant out of the bassinet (even if the infant has only just gone to sleep)

Also note that there might also be a problem with ordering a special meal when the ticket is marketed (sold by one airline) and operated by another. The infant ticket should come with an appropriate meal
But best to contact MH 48hrs prior to confirm the BBML or CHML as the case may be.
Letting QF know of the BBML/CHML is one thing but it is not a certainty that the request will stick.

BBML and CHML are IATA codes for baby meals and child meals

Your existing QF marketed ticket should be also visible in the MH app using the same 6 digit booking code

Not sure if they have moved to another email address ?

TLDR : Managed to create e-tickets for my infant after speaking to CS over the phone. However, I can't select the bassinet seat as the new booking contains only my infant (tagged to my wife). In the main booking there's no infant so I cant select a bassinet for my newly added infant. Was advised to request at check-in counter but chances are slim...
