QP Perth epic fail tonight

I've posted my view on similar threads before and will happily keep posting to challenge other views:

How does the clothing choices of others affect your enjoyment or comfort of using the lounge, which IMO are primarily:
- comfy seat / relaxing environment
- drinks and snacks/food
- wifi, newspapers, magazines etc
- showers & toilets

If it's just that you think it is inappropriate, fair enough, but why are you so busy focusing on their clothes instead of enjoying your drink or catching up on emails with the free wifi???

I think the crux of this debate is "relaxing environment". I haven't spent too much time in the Perth QP, but it's clear that it is not a relaxing environment most of the time.

It sounds like sitting down, enjoying a drink and catching up on emails is next to impossible in the Perth QP, as you have to queue for 10 mins for each drink and can't get a seat! Perhaps that's why people are busy focussing on others in the lounge and zeroing in on characteristics they dislike. It's human nature that people turn on each other when they are crammed together in an uncomfortable and frustrating situation.

Perth QP last night was a model of propriety.
No drunks, no hi-vis, nobody passed out on the floor and plenty of seats.
I did get there after the BNE flight had departed though; I wonder if that made the difference.:)

Last time I was DRW they had the same drinks policy.

It was a cue for a drink so I got 2 so I didn't have to line up again.

Interesting (and a touch, dare I say.. discriminatory) thing happened last night to myself and partner at the Perth QP:

Firstly, I had asked for and received two glasses of wine for my partner and received no problems, I also noticed other people doing this with no issue.

Later, my partner went to get two more for us both (second round) and was stood behind a group of gentlemen each receiving two glasses each, when it came to her turn she was sternly advised that there was a one drink per person policy and would only be given a second drink if she was escorted back to where I was sitting with another member of staff. She was perfectly fine, and not in any way inebriated. Why would this be any different for a female?

Now I can understand the rule being applied evenly to everyone, and can live with this due to the nature of PER QP, but found this targeted enforcement approach by the member of staff in question a little off putting.

Ogs70, your partner isn't the first person to cop the one drink policy, it's enforced fairly regularly.

I can understand this, what I find disturbing is how different standards were applied to different persons in the same queue by the same server..

Normally it is the same policy for all but fair enough
